Education Details
- Candidates must hold an MBBS degree recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI).
- Applicants must have successfully completed their compulsory rotating internship.
- Permanent registration with any State Medical Council, NMC, or MCI is strictly mandatory.
- Candidates must have qualified or appeared for the NEET PG examination.
- Individuals holding a recognized Postgraduate Degree or Diploma are also eligible and highly encouraged to apply.
Salary
- Selected Medical Officers will receive an attractive pay structure in accordance with the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).
- Additional allowances include Military Service Pay (MSP), Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA), Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance.
- Officers are also entitled to free medical facilities, structured career progression, and CSD privileges.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is calculated as of December 31, 2026:
- For MBBS Degree Holders: The maximum age limit is 30 years (candidates must be born on or after January 2, 1997).
- For Postgraduate Degree Holders: The maximum age limit is 35 years (candidates must be born on or after January 2, 1992).
- Age relaxation will be provided to applicable reserved categories strictly as per government rules and regulations.
AFMS Medical Officer Notification 2026 Selection Process
- Shortlisting of Applications: Initial screening will be based on NEET PG scores and academic eligibility criteria.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview conducted by a Board of Officers, tentatively scheduled for March 2026 in Delhi.
- Document Verification: Verification of original educational certificates, medical registrations, and age proof.
- Medical Examination: A comprehensive medical and physical fitness test conducted by a Special Medical Board.

- A non-refundable application fee of ₹200 applies to all categories, including General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, Female, PH, and PWD candidates.
- The fee must be paid exclusively through online payment gateways (Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or e-challan).
