The BSUSC aims to fill a total of 3,687 Contractual Faculty vacancies across various universities and newly constituted colleges in Bihar. These positions span multiple core subjects, offering a massive opportunity for eligible candidates to contribute to the state’s higher education sector.

Bihar Assistant Professor Education Details

• Candidates must possess a good academic background with a minimum of 55% marks at the Master’s degree level or equivalent grade.

• A relaxation of 5% marks is available for SC/ST/BC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and physically challenged persons who are native residents of Bihar.

• Applicants must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a UGC-accredited test.

• Alternatively, candidates awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016) are exempted from the NET requirement.

Salary

• The monthly remuneration for this contractual engagement will be equivalent to the minimum monthly gross salary (Basic + DA only) of a regularly appointed Assistant Professor at the entry level.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years as on 01.08.2026.

• Maximum Age: 43 years as on 01.08.2026.

• Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates in accordance with Bihar Government guidelines.

Selection Process

• Academic Qualifications: 88 Marks maximum based on educational background (Graduation, Post Graduation, NET, Ph.D., JRF, etc.).

• Interview-cum-Demonstration: 12 Marks maximum (6 marks for a video-recorded teaching skill demonstration and 6 marks for interaction with the interview board).

• Shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview in a 1:3 ratio based on their academic screening marks.
