HPSC HCS Exam Details

The HPSC HCS Preliminary examination is the critical first screening stage in the recruitment process for administrative roles such as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and Excise & Taxation Officer (ETO). The exam will be held in multiple designated centers across Haryana in a single day (Sunday).

The exam will take place in two distinct shifts:

  • Morning Shift (Paper I): 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Afternoon Shift (Paper II): 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Candidates are strongly advised to reach their respective examination venues well before the reporting time to allow for smooth frisking and biometric verification procedures.

The final merit list for shortlisting candidates to the Mains exam will be prepared based only on the marks scored in Paper I. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect answer across both papers.
