IIT JAM 2026 Registration Open, Eligibility, Application Form

IIT JAM 2026 registration Process Opens from September 05:  Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has started the registration process for the Joint Admission Test for Master of Science, JAM 2026 on September 05, 2025 through jam.iitm.ac.in.

IIT JAM Admission Process

Candidates who qualify in any Test Paper of JAM 2026 will be eligible to apply for admission to specific academic programmes subject to the satisfaction of the Eligibility Requirements and Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQs).

+ Admission shall be given as per merit, the reservation policy of the Government of India, and the availability of seats.

+ Proof of having passed the qualifying degree should be submitted by September 29, 2026.

+ Candidates promoted without a mark sheet should produce a certificate stating the subjects studied in that semester/year duly signed by the Head of the Institute.

+ Qualifying in JAM 2026 does not guarantee admission to postgraduate programmes or any scholarship/ financial assistance

IIT JAM 2026 is going to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD). The candidates qualified in the exam can take admition to various masters programmes in institutes including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs).

IIT JAM 2026 main aim to provide admission into M.Sc, M.Sc. Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at different IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Programmes at the IISc to which admissions shall be made on the basis of JAM 2026. Aspirants who ate Qualified in the IIT JAM 2026 can get admission into an applied course in colleges of the country. IIT JAM 2026 admission will be granted both Indian and Foreign nationals. • Candidates belonging to General / OBC must have 50 % Aggregate in Bachelors Degree throughout all the subjects in the academic session.
• Candidates belonging to SC, & ST must have an aggregate of 50% in all the subjects.

IIT JAM 2026 – Age Limit

JAM 2019 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign). Candidates seeking admission to the academic programs covered under JAM 2020 need to appear in JAM 2026. There is no age restriction.

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2026

• Visit the Official Website of IIT Kanpur i.e. https://jam.iitg.ac.in/
• An application form is available for JAM 2026 through online
• Click on New Registration
• Enter your name, Email ID, Valid Phone number and Password in space provided for them
• Submit the Details
• Enrollment Number and Password are received through Email
• Check the Enrollment number and Login with password
• Enter your Personal Details and educational Details
• Upload required documents needed such Photograph, signature, Category certificate, etc
• Finally, pay the Application pay through Electronic mode
• Submit the Details
• Save the application and Take a Printout of it for future reference.

IIT JAM 2026 Exam Centers

IIT JAM Admit Card 2026

The Admit Card of JAM 2026 must be carefully preserved by the Candidate and produced at the time of admission if required by the Admitting Institute. No candidate will be permitted to appear in JAM 2026 examination without a valid Admit Card, and a valid and original ID. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators/JAM officials for verification. The Candidate should carefully examine the Admit Card for all the entries made therein. A printout of the downloaded Admit Card must be brought to the Test Centre along with the original and valid photo identification Proof.

IIT JAM Exam Pattern 2026

• IIT JAM Section–A Exam Pattern contains a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) involving 10 questions of one mark each and 20 questions of two marks each.
  Note: For each wrong answer of 1 mark questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted and similarly for each wrong answer of 2 marks questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted
• IIT JAM Section–B Exam Pattern
  contains a total of 10 (MSQs) carrying two marks each. Each MSQ is similar to MCQ but with a difference that there may be one or more than one choice(s) are correct out of the four given choices.
  Note: There are no negative and no partial marking provisions.
• IIT JAM Section–C Exam Pattern
  This section contains a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions involving 10 questions of one mark each and 10 questions of two marks each. No choices will be shown for these type of questions
  Note: There is no negative marking in Section-C (NAT) as well.
