The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2025 is essential for candidates who wish to pursue teaching careers in government schools. Conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Karnataka, the test evaluates candidates’ eligibility for teaching positions in both primary and upper primary levels. Candidates appearing for the Karnataka TET exams must download the KAR TET Exam Pattern from the web page. The Karnataka TET paper will be divided into papers 1 and 2. Paper 1 is for Primary classes (1st to 5th), and Paper 2 is for Upper Primary Classes (6th to 8th). The paper consists of full objective-type questions & answers. Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking scheme. The paper weightage is 150 marks. The total time duration is 2 ½ hours.
Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).
