Western Railway has notified a total of 5,349 apprentice slots distributed across its multiple divisions, workshops, and the headquarters office. Applicants are permitted to choose only one Division or Workshop while applying.

RRC WR Trade Apprenticeship Education Details
Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed Matriculation (10th class) under the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
Technical Qualification: Candidates must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade affiliated to NCVT. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible to apply under this notification.
Salary
Selected candidates engaged as Apprentices will undergo apprenticeship training for a period of one year and will be paid a stipend at the prescribed rate during the training period, as per extant rules and directives issued by the Railway Board.
Age Limit
Applicants must have completed 15 years of age and must not have attained 24 years of age as on the closing date, 23/03/2026.
Age Relaxations:
SC/ST Candidates: Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.
OBC Candidates: Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years.
Persons with Disabilities (PWD): Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years.
Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years, plus the length of military service rendered, plus an additional 3 years, provided they have completed a minimum of 6 months continuous service.
Selection Process
The selection of eligible applicants will be based on a merit list, prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained in both Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, with equal weightage given to both.
There will be no written test or viva.
The final selection of applicants is subject to the verification of original documents and submission of a Medical Fitness Certificate.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹100/- and is non-refundable.
The payment of the application fee must be made online only, through the payment gateway using Debit Card, Credit Card, UPI, or Internet Banking.
No fee is required to be paid by SC, ST, PwBD, or Women applicants.
How to Apply
- Visit the official RRC Western Railway website: https://www.rrc-wr.com.
- Ensure you have a valid personal email ID and active mobile number, which must remain operational throughout the entire engagement process.
- Register by providing your 12-digit Aadhaar number, or your 28-digit Aadhaar Enrolment ID if you have not yet received your Aadhaar Card.
- Carefully fill in your personal details, trade, marks/CGPA, and your single choice of Division/Workshop.
- Upload legible, self-attested scanned copies of your 10th marksheet, ITI marksheet/certificate, proof of date of birth, caste certificate (if applicable), and disability certificate (if applicable).
- Upload a recent color photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, 20 KB to 70 KB) clearly showing your front view, and a scanned copy of your signature (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, 20 KB to 30 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
- Pay the application fee of ₹100/- online, if applicable.
- Once payment is successful, download and retain a printout of your online application form to produce when requested by the Railway Administration.
