Salary (Pay Matrix)

Age Limit (Maximum)
The maximum age limit for appointment on a Direct Recruitment basis for the Assistant posts are as follows. Age shall be calculated as on the closing date of application (12.01.2026).
Assistant (A-IV): 36 years
Assistant (A-III): 34 years
Assistant (A-II): 32 years
Assistant (A-I): 30 years
Note: Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and Government employees as per Government of India rules.
Selection Process
The selection for all below Group ‘A’ posts, including the Assistant posts (A-I to A-IV), is primarily based on a Written Examination.
Screening: Only completed online applications received by the last date will be screened, and shortlisted candidates will be called for the Written Examination.
Written Examination: The exam will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), carrying one mark each, with a duration of 2½ hours for most Assistant posts. The syllabus covers: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Numerical Aptitude, English Comprehension, and Knowledge of Central Government Rules and Procedures/Instructions.
Final Selection/Merit: Final merit will be determined based on the marks obtained in the written examination. Minimum qualifying marks are: 50% for General, 45% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST.
Application Fee
The application fee for below Group ‘A’ posts (Level-10 and below), which includes all Assistant posts, is Rs. 500/-.
Exempted Categories: Female candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category are exempted from paying the fee.
Payment Method: Fee must be paid through NEFT/RTGS or Digital Payment (UPI/BHIM).
