According to this notification, the Third Term Summative Assessment for 1st to 5th Std, and the Annual Examinations for 6th to 9th Std, are scheduled to be held from April 1, 2026, to April 16, 2026. TN School Summer Holidays 2026
Following the completion of the annual examinations on April 16, 2026, all government and private schools in Tamil Nadu will begin their Summer Vacation from April 17, 2026.
The schools are expected to reopen for the next academic year (2026-2027) in the first week of June 2026. The exact reopening date will be confirmed by the Education Minister based on the prevailing weather conditions (heatwave alerts) at that time.
