Coal India has announced 660 tentative vacancies for Management Trainees across nine technical and non-technical disciplines. The highest number of available positions is in the Electrical and Civil engineering domains.

Coal India Recruitment 2026 Education Details

Candidates must possess the relevant minimum qualifications from a recognized University or Institute to apply:

• Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering: A regular full-time Degree in the relevant engineering branch with a minimum of 60% marks.

• System: A recognized 1st Class Degree in BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science / IT, or any 1st Class Degree with an MCA.

• Electronics & Telecommunication: BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg) in the relevant branch with a minimum of 60% marks.

• Geology: M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with a minimum of 60% marks.

• Rajbhasha (Hindi): MA in Hindi with at least 60% marks, and Graduation with Hindi and English as main subjects (minimum 50% marks).

• Company Secretary: Graduate in any discipline with a Company Secretary qualification and Associate/Fellow membership of ICSI. Preference is given to those who have worked in a listed company.

  Note: A 5% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks is applicable for SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates.

Salary

Selected candidates will be designated as Management Trainees and placed in the E-1 Grade pay scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000/-. They will receive an initial basic pay of Rs. 60,000/- per month during the training period. Upon successful completion of a 1-year training cum probation, candidates will be confirmed as Officer (Discipline) and will be entitled to Dearness Allowance, HRA, and other standard perquisites.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 30 Years as of 30th April 2026 for General (UR) and EWS candidates.

Age Relaxations:

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years.
• SC / ST: 5 Years.
• Persons with Disabilities (General UR): 10 Years.
• There is no upper age bar for existing employees of Coal India Limited and its subsidiaries.

Selection Process

The recruitment selection is based entirely on the marks secured in the Computer-Based Online Test (CBT). There will be no interview stage.

• The online test will be conducted for 3 hours and will consist of two papers, each worth 100 marks.
• Paper-I includes General Knowledge/Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English.
• Paper-II consists of Professional Knowledge related to the specific discipline.
• Each question carries 1 mark, and there is no penalty for incorrect answers.
