SECR Apprenticeship Engagement 2026-27: The South East Central Railway (SECR), Raipur Division, has announced an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to build a career with the Indian Railways. The SECR Apprenticeship Recruitment 2026 is officially underway, offering an opportunity to apply for 1644 Trade Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act-1961. A total of 1644 apprentice vacancies are available in this recruitment cycle. These slots are distributed across two main units: 1363 posts are allocated to the DRM Office in the Raipur Division, and the remaining 281 posts are available at the Wagon Repair Shop, Raipur.

Education Details

• Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination under the 10+2 system of education or its equivalent, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

• Applicants must also have passed an I.T.I course in the relevant trade from a Recognized Institution.

• Candidates whose results for the qualifying examination are awaited, or those who are currently appearing for it, are not eligible to apply.

Salary

Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training for a designated period of 1 year for each trade. During this training phase, they will be paid a regular monthly stipend in accordance with the established rules of the Railway Board.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: The candidate should have completed 15 years of age as of 05.05.2026.

• Maximum Age: The candidate should not have completed 24 years of age as of 05.05.2026.

• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates. It is relaxed by 10 years for Ex-Servicemen and PwBD category candidates.

Selection Process

• The selection process is purely merit-based.

• The merit list is prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidates in both the Matriculation exam (minimum 50% aggregate) and the ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both qualifications.

• Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification and must undergo a Medical Examination. During this stage, candidates must present a medical certificate signed by a Government authorized doctor, not below the rank of Asst. Surgeon of a Central/State Hospital.

Application Fee

There is no application fee required to apply for the SECR Trade Apprentice posts. Candidates from all categories can submit their applications free of cost.

• If you belong to the SC/ST/OBC community, ensure your Aadhar is verified and upload a recent caste certificate issued by a competent authority.
• Fill out the application and upload soft or scanned copies of a present passport-size color photograph and your scanned signature.
• Upload all necessary educational and technical qualification documents.
• Submit the completed online application strictly before 04.06.2026 (23.59 Hrs).
