Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The Indian Army TGC-144 selection does not involve a traditional written examination. Instead, the selection process is based on an interview and medical evaluation:
Shortlisting of Applications: The Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) will shortlist candidates based on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained up to the final semester/year.
SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a five-day Service Selection Board (SSB) interview at one of the Selection Centres (Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar). The SSB is a two-stage selection process:
Stage-1: Screening phase. Candidates who fail this stage are sent back on the same day.
Stage-2: Candidates who clear Stage-1 proceed to the subsequent psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews.
Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB after Stage-2 will undergo a rigorous medical examination.
Merit List: A final merit list will be prepared engineering stream-wise based purely on the marks obtained in the SSB interview. Medically fit candidates within the stipulated vacancies will be issued joining letters.
