ISRO Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 242 Assistant Posts

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Government of India, has released an official recruitment notification (Advt No. ISRO ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026) for administrative positions. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates to fill up a total of 242 vacancies for Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), Upper Division Clerk (UDC), and Stenographer posts across various ISRO centres and autonomous bodies. Vacancy Details

ISRO has released 242 vacancies across multiple administrative posts at its constituent centres and autonomous bodies. These include 128 Assistant posts, 82 Junior Personal Assistant posts, 22 Upper Division Clerk posts, and 10 Stenographer positions spread across various zones.

Education Details

• Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (Post Nos. 1, 3 & 5):

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from a recognized university (completed within the minimum stipulated duration).

  • Proficiency in the use of computers is required.

• Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer (Post Nos. 2, 4 & 6):

  • Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale OR Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32.

  • One year of experience as a Steno-Typist/Stenographer (or BOAT Apprenticeship Training Certificate under NATS).

  • A minimum speed of 60 w.p.m. in English Stenography.

  • Proficiency in the use of computers is required.

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed in Level 4 of the Pay Matrix with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 25,500/- per month. In addition, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, New Pension Scheme (NPS), medical facilities, subsidized canteen, and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) are admissible as per Central Government orders.

Age Limit

Calculated as on 16.08.2026:

• Upper Age Limit: 28 years

• OBC Candidates: Up to 31 years

• SC / ST Candidates: Up to 33 years

• Note: Serving Government employees, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, meritorious sportspersons, and eligible women (widowed/divorced) get age relaxations as per Government of India guidelines.

Selection Process

1. Written Test: Candidates whose applications are accepted will be called for a competitive written examination.

2. Skill Test: Candidates qualifying in the written test will undergo a Skill Test (Stenography test for JPA/Steno posts or Computer Literacy/Proficiency Test as applicable).

3. Document Verification: Verification of original certificates and credentials before final selection.

Application Fee

• Application Fee: Rs. 100/- for all posts.

• Processing Fee: All candidates must initially pay Rs. 500/- per application as a processing fee.

• Refund Policy (upon appearing in Written Test):

  • Exempted Categories (Women, SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen): Full refund of Rs. 500/-.

  • All Other Candidates: Refund of Rs. 400/- (after deducting the Rs. 100 application fee).
