Under this drive, BPCL is inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for 154 vacancies across its refineries located in Mumbai and Kochi. Educational Qualification & Experience

Academic Qualifications

• Process Technician / Operator (Chemical) [Post Codes A & B]: Full-time regular Diploma in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology approved by AICTE.

• Technician / Operator (Mechanical) [Post Code C]: Full-time regular Diploma in Mechanical Engineering approved by AICTE.

• Technician (Electrical) [Post Code D]: Full-time regular Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering / Electrical Power System / Electrical Engineering (Industrial Control) approved by AICTE.

• Minimum Marks Requirement: Minimum 60% aggregate marks for General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) candidates, and 50% aggregate marks for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates against reserved seats.

• Restriction on Higher Qualifications: Candidates possessing higher professional engineering qualifications such as B.E., B.Tech, or A.M.I.E. are not eligible to apply, even if acquired after obtaining the diploma. Part-time or distance learning diplomas are also strictly ineligible.

Work Experience Criteria

• Candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year relevant post-qualification work experience or 1 year post-qualification apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 in a Refining, Lube, Petroleum, Power, Petrochemical, or Fertilizer industry of repute as on July 1, 2026.

Salary & Benefits

• Selected candidates will be placed in the entry-level NG-2 Grade.

• Basic Pay Scale: Starting minimum basic pay of ₹26,500/- in the pay scale of ₹26,500/- – ₹34,000/-.

• Allowances: In addition to the basic pay, Industrial Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances/benefits will be applicable as per Corporation rules.

• Candidates joining through proper channel from other CPSUs/PSUs/Govt bodies may get basic pay protection up to the grade maximum of ₹34,000/-.

Age Limit

Age eligibility is calculated as on July 1, 2026:

• General / EWS Candidates: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years.

• OBC (NCL) Candidates: Maximum age relaxed by 3 years (up to 28 years).

• SC / ST Candidates: Maximum age relaxed by 5 years (up to 30 years).

• PwBD Candidates: Maximum age relaxed by 10 years (up to 13 years for OBC-NCL and 15 years for SC/ST).

• Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Age relaxation as per military service deduction rules.

• Maximum Age Cap: Total cumulative age relaxation across multiple categories is capped at 15 years.

Selection Process

The selection procedure comprises three distinct evaluation stages:

1. Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

   • Duration & Pattern: 120 minutes duration containing 100 objective multiple-choice questions (1 mark each).

   • Sections:

     • Domain Knowledge: 60 marks.

     • General Aptitude: 40 marks (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness & Current Affairs).

   • Language & Marking: Conducted in English only; No negative marking for wrong answers.

2. Stage 2: Skill / Proficiency Test (SPT)

   • Candidates shortlisted based on CBT cut-off marks will appear for SPT at respective refinery locations. This stage is qualifying in nature.

3. Stage 3: Pre-Employment Medical Examination

   • Final appointment is subject to candidates clearing document verification and meeting BPCL pre-employment medical fitness standards.

• General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) Candidates: ₹590/- (Application Fee of ₹500/- + 18% GST ₹90/-) plus applicable gateway charges.

• SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen Candidates: Nil (Exempted from fee payment).
