AFCAT 02/2026 Vacancy Details

The tentative vacancies available for the courses commencing in July 2027 are as follows:

  • AFCAT Flying Branch: 30 vacancies for Men (SSC) and 5 vacancies for Women (SSC).

  • AFCAT Ground Duty (Non-Technical):

    • Weapon Systems (WS): 21 Men (SSC), 5 Women (SSC).

    • Administration (Adm): 50 Men (SSC), 12 Women (SSC).

    • Logistics (Lgs): 4 Men (SSC), 2 Women (SSC).

    • Accounts (Accts): 2 Men (SSC), 5 Women (SSC).

    • Education (Edn): 1 Men (SSC), 2 Women (SSC).

    • Meteorology (Met): 1 Men (SSC), 2 Women (SSC).

  • NCC Special Entry (Flying): 10% seats out of CDSE vacancies for PC and 10% seats out of AFCAT vacancies for SSC.

  • Ground Duty (Technical) & GATE Score Entry: Vacancy details are as published in the detailed induction cycle 02/2026 notification.

(Note: Two seats are reserved from Ground Duty Non-Tech vacancies for Law qualified candidates.)

AFCAT 1/2026: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course and marriage is not permitted during training

Age Limit (as on 01 July 2027):

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years. Candidates must be born between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit is relaxable up to 26 years for candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (born between 02 July 2001 and 01 July 2007).

  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years. Candidates must be born between 02 July 2001 and 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification

Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special EntryCandidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and (a) Graduation with a minimum of three years degree courses in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR (b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR (c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India)
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) BranchTechnical: Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation /integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Non-Technical: Passed 10+2 and a Graduate Degree (a Minimum three-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent, or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate.
Graduates with a minimum three-year degree course in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained a minimum 60% marks or equivalent and have passed Maths & Physics at 10+2 level or BE/B Tech degree (Four-year course).
Candidates who have cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Pay Scale

  • Stipend: Flight Cadets will receive a fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100 during their one year of training.

  • Commissioned Pay: Upon commissioning as a Flying Officer, the salary will be as per the 7th CPC Defence Matrix at Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,800), along with a Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs. 15,500.
