The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has released Brief Notification No. 19/2026 for the direct recruitment of Horticulture Officers in the A.P. Horticulture Service. APPSC Horticulture Officer Jobs 2026 Age Limit

• Age Range: Candidates applying for direct recruitment under APPSC are generally expected to be between 18 and 42 years of age.

• Crucial Date: The date of the Detailed Notification will be reckoned as the crucial cutoff date for all eligibility criteria, including age.

• Age Relaxations: Upper age relaxations will be applicable to SC, ST, BC, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories as per the rules of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

APPSC Horticulture Officer Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted through a single-level online examination (no preliminary screening test will be held), followed by a Computer Proficiency Test:

1. Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT): An objective-type examination totaling 450 marks for merit.

   • Qualifying Test: General English (50 marks) & General Telugu (50 marks) – 100 Questions, 100 Minutes, 100 Marks (SSC Standard, must qualify individually).

   • Paper-I: General Studies & Mental Ability (Degree standard) – 150 Questions, 150 Minutes, 150 Marks.

   • Paper-II: Horticulture-I (Degree standard) – 150 Questions, 150 Minutes, 150 Marks.

   • Paper-III: Horticulture-II (Degree standard) – 150 Questions, 150 Minutes, 150 Marks.

   • Negative Marking: $1/3^{\text{rd}}$ of the marks will be penalized for every incorrect response.

2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): Practical test of 60 minutes for 100 marks covering Office Automation, Operating Systems, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Presentation Software.

   • Qualifying Marks: SC/ST/PH – 30 marks, BCs – 35 marks, OCs – 40 marks.

3. Document Verification: Verification of original academic certificates, ICAR accreditation proofs, community certificates, and other required documents.
