AP SET 2026 Registration: The Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET) notification was released on 31st December 2026. APSET 2026 will be conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on 28th and 29th March 2026 for the recruitment of Lecturers/Assistant Professors in Degree Colleges/Universities in AP as per the University Grants Commission Regulations.

APSET 2026 Exam Details

The AP SET 2026 will be conducted across 30 subjects in eight regional centers. Notably, the exam is transitioning from an offline format to an Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The examination consists of two papers, both featuring objective-type questions (MCQs).

APSET 2026 Eligibility Details

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) from a UGC-recognized university with at least 55% marks for General/EWS candidates.

  • Relaxation: Reserved category candidates (SC, ST, BC, PwD, and Transgender) are eligible with 50% marks.

  • Final Year Students: Candidates pursuing their Master’s or awaiting final results can apply provisionally but must complete their degree within two years of the SET result.

  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying to AP SET.

  • Exemptions: Candidates who qualified for UGC NET or SET before June 1, 2002, are exempted from this test for Assistant Professor recruitment.

  2. Click on the “Registration” or “Apply Online” link on the homepage.

  3. Register by providing basic details such as name, email ID, and mobile number to generate a password.

  4. Log in with your credentials and fill in the detailed application form, including academic history and subject choice.

  5. Upload scanned copies of your passport-size photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).

  6. Pay the application fee online via credit card, debit card, or net banking.

APSET 2026 Exam Pattern

The APSET will be conducted in an objective mode. The test will consist of three papers. Both papers will consist of multiple-choice questions and will be held on the day of the examination in two separate sessions as under:

  • Scoring: Each correct answer carries 2 marks.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
  • Medium: Paper I is bilingual (English and Telugu), and Paper II depends on the specific subject chosen.

AP SET 2026 Syllabus

AP SET Syllabus 2026 Paper – I and Paper – II Exam will be Computer-Based Tests and will comprise 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 1 mark each. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates will be given two and a half hours to complete it.
