ISCE class 12th comprises three major streams: Science, Commerce, and Humanities/Arts. These three streams are classified based on the core subjects.
The science stream teaches the areas related to medical, engineering, and other professional fields, whereas the commerce stream focuses on business-related topics, commerce, trade, and financial matters. Unlike science and commerce, the humanities/arts stream covers vast areas of study, and the subjects include historical arts, cultural and traditional values, matter and political and social interests, etc.

ISC English Syllabus 2025-26
There will be two papers as follows:
Paper 1: English Language (3 hours) – 100 marks (80 marks written, 20 marks internal assessment)
Paper 2: Literature in English (3 hours) – 100 marks (80 marks written, 20 marks internal assessment)
| Types of Assessment | Description |
| a) Listening skills | A passage of about 350 words is read aloud, twice, the first time at normal reading speed (about 110 words a minute) and the next time at a slower speed. Students may make brief notes during the readings. They then answer objective-type questions based on the passage on the paper provided. |
| b) A passage of about 500 words will be provided. | A question that elicits the main ideas of all or part of the passage. This question will consist of two parts: (i) In the first part, the students will be required to list the main points as directed, in point form. Sentences/phrases/clauses will be accepted, as long as the meaning is conveyed. In this part, marks will be awarded for Content. (ii) In the second part of the question, the students will be required to frame these points in a summary (keeping to a word limit), in a coherent manner. In this part, marks will be awarded for expression and the students’ ability to summarise the points clearly in complete sentences. Marks will be deducted for linguistic errors. |

The physics subject’s marks are a total of 70 consisting of 10 units as shown below. The paper will be divided into two different sections. The first section will contain all the short answer questions, whereas the second section will consist of six questions. The candidates need to attempt four out of these six questions.

- Part 2 (70 marks) will consist of seven questions out of which students will be required to answer five questions, each carrying 14 marks.
ISC Arts Stream Syllabus 2025-26
The ISC arts/humanities stream consists of subjects like History, Geography, Political Science, and many more.
ISC Geography Syllabus 2025-26
There will be one theory paper of three hours duration divided into two parts:
Part I (30 marks) will be compulsory and will consist of Section A and Section B.
- Section A will include compulsory short answer questions testing knowledge, application, and skills related to elementary/fundamental aspects of the entire syllabus.
- Section B will consist of one question on map work.
Part II (40 marks) will consist of seven questions. Candidates will be required to answer four out of seven questions. Each question in this part shall carry 10 marks.
