Cochin Shipyard has invited applications for 210 permanent positions across various technical trades. These vacancies are distributed among different categories including UR, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS, ensuring diverse representation within the workforce.

Education Details & Experience

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: Must have passed SSLC (Class 10th) from a recognized board.

• Technical Qualification: Must possess an ITI (National Trade Certificate) in the relevant trade and have successfully cleared the All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate – NAC).

• Essential Experience: A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant trade within a Shipyard, Engineering Company, or Government/Semi-Government establishment.

Salary & Benefits

The selected candidates will be placed in the W6 Grade pay scale.

• Pay Scale: ₹22,500 – ₹73,750 per month.

• Total Monthly Emoluments: Approximately ₹41,055/- (including Basic Pay, DA, HRA, and Conveyance Allowance).

• Additional Perks: Benefits such as PF, Medical Insurance, and other allowances as per CSL rules.

Age Limit (as of 23 January 2026)

• Maximum Age: 35 Years.

• Age Relaxation:

  • OBC (NCL): 3 Years

  • SC/ST: 5 Years

  • PwBD: As per Government of India directives.

Selection Process

The selection for the CSL Workmen posts will be conducted in two main phases:

1. Phase I – Objective Type Online Test: 30 Marks (General Knowledge, Aptitude, and Trade Knowledge).

2. Phase II – Practical Test: 70 Marks (Testing specific trade skills).

3. Final Merit List: Based on the aggregate marks of both Phase I and Phase II, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.
