Following the Directorate of Education (DoE) schedule, over 1,700 schools have uploaded the names of shortlisted candidates along with the waiting list for entry-level classes (Nursery, KG, and Class 1). Parents are advised to check the respective school websites immediately, as the window for admission formalities is short, closing on February 16, 2026.

Cutoff & Waiting List Details (Points System)
Admissions in Delhi are based on a Points System rather than a written exam. Schools allot points based on criteria like Neighborhood (Distance), Sibling (if a brother/sister studies there), and Alumni status.
High Competition: The second list has revealed high competition. For instance, DPS East of Kailash selected 14 candidates while placing 132 on the waiting list. Similarly, Apeejay School, Saket, confirmed 150 students but kept 176 on standby.
Waiting List Movement: If your child’s name is on the waiting list, admission depends on seat vacancies arising after the Round 2 formalities are completed.
Resolution of Queries: Parents can approach schools to resolve queries regarding points allotment between February 11 and February 17, 2026.
Admission Criteria & Age Limit
To secure a seat under the General Category, parents must ensure their wards meet the age criteria mandated by the DoE for the 2026-27 session.
Nursery: Child must be 3+ years as of March 31, 2026.
KG (Pre-Primary): Child must be 4+ years as of March 31, 2026.
Class 1: Child must be 5+ years as of March 31, 2026.
Note: Schools may grant an age relaxation of up to 30 days at the discretion of the Head of School.
Fees: Schools are strictly prohibited from charging capitation fees. Only a non-refundable registration fee of ₹25 is allowed.
