HAL MT/DT Recruitment 2026: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has officially released its recruitment notification (Advt No.: HAL/CHRC-TM/RECT-02/2026) for the engagement of Design Trainees (DTs) and Management Trainees (MTs). Educational Details

  • Degree Qualification: Candidates must possess a regular/full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology or equivalent from recognized Universities or Institutions under the 10+2+4 pattern (10+3+3 for lateral entry).

  • Eligible Disciplines: Aeronautical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Metallurgy, Production, and Civil Engineering (along with specified eligible sub-branches).

  • Minimum Percentage Requirements:

    • UR / OBC-NCL / EWS Categories: Minimum 70% aggregate marks across all semesters/years.

    • SC / ST / PwBD Categories: Minimum 60% aggregate marks across all semesters/years.

  • Final Year Students: Candidates currently in the final semester/year of their engineering degree are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the aggregate percentage criteria up to their last semester and can produce proof of passing at the time of the interview.

  • Ineligible Qualifications: Part-time, correspondence, distance education, or e-learning degrees are strictly not allowed.

Salary & Emoluments

Selected candidates will undergo 52 weeks of induction training programme.

  • During Training Period: Trainees will receive a monthly stipend comprising a Basic Pay of ₹50,000/-, Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA), and Canteen Allowance, along with bachelor accommodation as per company rules.

  • On Absorption: After successful training completion, trainees will be absorbed as Engineers in Grade-II scale of pay (₹50,000 – ₹1,60,000/-).

  • Additional Perks: Absorption benefits include Basic Pay, VDA, Perks under the Cafeteria system, HRA / Company Accommodation, Performance Related Pay (PRP), Medical Facilities, PF, and Gratuity.

  • Service Bond: Candidates must execute a Service Agreement Bond to serve HAL for 5 years after training, with a breach reimbursement liability capped at ₹15,00,000/-.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is calculated as on August 14, 2026:

  • General (UR) / EWS Candidates: Maximum 28 years.

  • OBC-NCL Candidates: Maximum age relaxed by 3 years (up to 31 years).

  • SC / ST Candidates: Maximum age relaxed by 5 years (up to 33 years).

  • PwBD Candidates: Upper age limit relaxed by 10 years (cumulative up to 13 years for OBC-NCL and 15 years for SC/ST).

  • Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be based on an all-India competitive evaluation:

  1. Stage 1: Online Computer-Based Test (85% Weightage)

    • Duration: 2.5 hours (150 minutes).

    • Structure: 160 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in 3 parts:

      • Part I: General Awareness (20 MCQs).

      • Part II: English & Reasoning (40 MCQs).

      • Part III: Concerned Discipline Domain Knowledge (100 MCQs).

    • Medium: English or Hindi (chosen at the time of application).

  2. Stage 2: Personal Interview at Bengaluru (15% Weightage)

    • Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:5 ratio based on Online Test merit scores in each discipline and category.

  3. Stage 3: Pre-Employment Medical Examination

    • Final selection is subject to medical fitness clearance as per HAL medical standards.

  • SC / ST / PwBD / HAL Internal Candidates: Nil (Exempted from fee payment).

  3. Select the post you wish to apply for and register using an active Email ID and Mobile Number to generate an OTP.

  4. Fill in basic eligibility details and upload a passport-size photograph (.jpg format, under 180 KB).

  5. Upon generating your unique Application Number, complete the personal, contact, and semester-wise academic qualification details.

  6. Pay the application fee of ₹500/- online using the SBIePAY payment gateway (if applicable).

  7. Verify all entered details carefully, submit the online form before August 14, 2026 (14:00 hrs), and print the confirmation page for future reference.
