Course-wise Eligibility Details

1. Research Programmes & ERP [Ph.D. / M.Tech (Research)]

  • Eligibility: Candidates must hold a minimum of a second class (or equivalent) in their Bachelor’s degree (Engineering/Technology) or Master’s degree (Science/Economics/Management/etc.).
  • Mandatory Requirement: A valid GATE score or NET JRF qualification is mandatory for most disciplines.
  • ERP Additions: ERP applicants must have completed two years of full-time employment by August 1, 2026, and must be officially sponsored.

2. M.Tech, M.Des, and M.Mgt Programmes

  • M.Tech: Requires a minimum second class in a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s in Science, along with a valid GATE score. Candidates from Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) with a CGPA of 8.0+ can apply without GATE.
  • M.Des: A minimum second-class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Design/Architecture with a valid GATE, CEED, or CAT score.
  • M.Mgt: A minimum first-class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a valid GATE, CAT, or GMAT score.

3. M.Sc. & Integrated Ph.D. Programmes

  • Eligibility: A minimum first-class (or equivalent) in a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc., B.E., B.Tech, etc.) relevant to the chosen discipline.
  • Mandatory Requirement: Candidates must have a valid JAM or JEST rank corresponding to their target discipline.

  • B.S. (Research): Candidates must have secured a first-class or 60% in their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.
