Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the Accounts Assistant posts is as follows:
Candidates must hold a Graduation Degree in any stream from a University recognized by the Government of India.
Minimum Marks: Candidates from the Open Merit (OM) category must secure at least 50% marks in their graduation.
Reserved Categories: Candidates belonging to reserved categories must secure a minimum of 45% marks in their graduation.
Candidates possessing higher qualifications like a Post Graduate Degree (with 50% marks) or a Ph.D. are also eligible to apply.
Candidates must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
Salary Details
Selected candidates will be placed in the pay band of Level-5, which corresponds to a basic pay scale ranging from ₹29,200 to ₹92,300. In addition to the basic salary, Accounts Assistants are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Medical Allowance, and other benefits permissible under the J&K Government rules.

Selection Process
The JKSSB Accounts Assistant recruitment follows a multi-stage selection process designed to assess the knowledge and suitability of the candidates:
- Written OMR-based Examination: This is the primary stage. The exam will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be a negative marking of 0.25 (one-fourth) marks for every incorrect answer.
- Document Verification (DV): Candidates provisionally shortlisted based on their merit in the written examination will be called for document verification. Original certificates must be produced at this stage.
- Final Merit List: The final selection list will be prepared based purely on the merit secured by the candidate in the OMR-based written examination.
