In addition to the main categories, there is a horizontal reservation of 10 vacancies for PWD and 10 for Armed Forces.
Naval Dockyard Apprentice Educational Details
Candidates must possess the following minimum educational qualifications:

Note: SSC/Matric and ITI certificates without marks, grades, or percentage will not be accepted. Candidates who have already completed or are currently pursuing apprenticeship training in the same trade are not eligible.
Stipend
The monthly stipend payable to the selected apprentices will range from Rs. 9,600/- to Rs. 10,560/- as per Apprentices Act 1961 and updated amendments..
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 14 years.
- Minimum Age for Hazardous Trades: 18 years.
Upper Age Restriction: There is no upper age restriction for apprenticeship training as per the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) office memorandum.
Candidates for non-hazardous trades must be born on or before 02 May 2012.
Candidates for hazardous trades must be born on or before 02 May 2008.
Selection Process
The selection process includes four stages:
- Shortlisting based on SSC and ITI marks
- Written Examination (Maths, Science, GK)
- Document Verification
- Medical Examination
Candidates must qualify in all stages to be considered for final enrollment.
Application Fee
The official document does not specify any application fee. However, candidates must forward a self-addressed empty envelope affixed with Rs. 55/- postal stamps for dispatching the hall ticket via Speed Post.
How to Apply
Candidates must follow a two-step procedure: mandatory online registration on the NAPS portal, followed by the offline submission of the application form and required documents.
Online Registration on NAPS Portal:
First, register mandatorily at the official online portal: www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
Ensure the name and date of birth on the Aadhar card and SSC/Matriculation certificate are the same; otherwise, correct the Aadhar details.
Open www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, click ‘Register’ $\rightarrow$ ‘Candidate’, fill in the basic details, and submit.
Activate the profile via the system-generated auto mail to complete registration.
Log in, complete the profile to 100% by entering all details (educational, contact, trade preference, Aadhar, PAN & bank, community, etc.), uploading supporting documents, and validating Aadhar.
Click on ‘Apprenticeship Opportunities’ $\rightarrow$ ‘Search by Establishment Name’ and enter “NAVAL DOCKYARD” (Establishment ID: E08152800002).
Select Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam, and click “Apply” against the desired trade.
Take a printout of the complete Apprentice Profile.
Offline Submission of Documents:
Take a printout of two copies of the Hall Ticket (Annexure-I format from the advertisement), fill them out with a ballpoint pen, and paste a recent passport color photograph (self-attested).
Forward the following documents in an envelope to the address below, writing the trade name on the cover:
