NIMCET 2020: Eligibility Criteria
Indian Nationals securing at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scales (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST) in
- B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons) / BCA / BIT / B.Voc. (Computer Science/ Computer Applica- tions) of minimum three years full-time from a recognized University with Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the subjects
2.B.E./ B.Tech. from a recognized University
are eligible to appear for NIMCET-2019. Conversion of scored marks from CGPA to percentage and vice-versa is not permitted.
(CGPA other than 10-point scale will be converted to 10-point scale based on Unitary method)
Note: Students who have completed/completing B.Sc./ B.Sc. (Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided the programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

How to Apply for NIMCET 2020
After duly filling up the application form and uploading of the necessary documents, the candidate should click “Preview the Application”, following which a preview of the entire application will be generated for viewing. The candidate is advised to carefully review this form and use “Revise the Application” button to go back to the application form, if required. Click on “SUBMIT” button only after assuring himself/herself that every entry is in order. Please note that no further review/ modification of the application will be possible after the final submission.
After the final submission of the application, a soft copy of the complete application form with unique Application Number will be generated in the downloadable PDF format. Applicants are advised to download and save the soft copy and also keep a hard copy of the application for further references.

NIMCET 2020 – Exam Pattern
NIMCET is an Offline OMR Based Exam to be Conducted in English. Duration of the Exam is 120 Minutes with 120 MCQs. Each Question Scores 4 Marks. There is a Negative Marking of 1 Mark.
Award of Marks
- Each correctly answered question will carry FOUR marks and each wrongly answered question will lead to NEGATIVE ONE mark.
- The candidates are advised not to attempt such questions if they are not sure of the correct answer. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if a question is unanswered.
- More than one answer indicated against a question will be negatively marked.
- The candidates have to mark the responses in the OMR sheet using black or blue ink ball point pen only.

|Mathematics||Set Theory: Concept of sets – Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations.|
Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.
Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear /quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.
Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola.
Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, diﬀerentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.
Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics.
Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.
|Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning||The questions in this section will cover logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude. With some questions on comprehension of a logical situation along with questions based on the facts given in the passage.|
|Computer Awareness||Computer Basics: Organization of a Computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, backup devices and other hardware parts.|
Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.
