National Teachers’ Eligibility Test (NTET) 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the information bulletin for the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test (NTET) 2026. This examination is designed for postgraduates in the Indian System of Medicine (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani) and Homoeopathy who wish to pursue a teaching career in recognised institutions. Candidates who qualify will be awarded an NTET Certificate, which remains valid for ten years from the date of qualification.

NTET 2026 Eligibility Details

To appear for the NTET 2026, candidates must meet specific educational requirements depending on their discipline:

  • Ayurveda: B.A.M.S. and MD/MS Ayurveda. Alternatively, combinations like MA Sanskrit, B.A.M.S., and M.Sc. in Anatomy/Physiology, or B.A.M.S. and MPH/M.Sc. in Ayurbiology/Microbiology/Botany are accepted.

  • Homoeopathy: B.H.M.S. and MD (Hom.). Other accepted qualifications include B.H.M.S. along with M.Sc. (Anatomy/Physiology/Biochemistry), B.H.M.S. and Master of Public Health (MPH), or Ph.D. and M.Sc. in relevant fields.

  • Unani: B.U.M.S. and MD/MS Unani. Candidates with M.A. Arabic, B.U.M.S. and M.Sc. in Anatomy/Physiology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Pharmacology, or B.U.M.S. and MPH are also eligible.

  • Siddha: B.S.M.S. and MD Siddha. Other combinations include MA Tamil/English, B.S.M.S. and M.Sc. (Anatomy/Physiology/Biochemistry/Microbiology/Botany/Pharmacology), or B.S.M.S. and MPH.

  • PG Students: Postgraduate students in the Indian System of Medicine who have completed 30 months of their PG degree program are eligible to apply. A No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the institution is mandatory for these candidates.

  • Other Streams: Postgraduate candidates from streams other than Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani (MD/MS) must have successfully completed their PG program prior to appearing for the exam.

Exam Pattern & Details

  • Total Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Maximum Marks: 100 Marks.

  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark awarded for every correct response.

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

  • Unattempted Questions: Zero marks will be given for un-answered questions.

  • Qualifying Criteria: Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% marks to qualify for the NTET.

  • Syllabus: The exam consists of eight modules focusing on Teaching & Training, Communication, Classroom Management, Assessment Methods, Educational Technologies, Educational Psychology, Andragogy, and Pedagogy.

  • National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).

NTET 2026 How to Apply

  1. Registration: Visit the official website and register for the Online Application Form to generate your system-generated Application Number and Password.

  2. Fill Application Form: Log in using the generated Application Number and Password to complete personal, educational, and examination city preference details.

  3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of a recent passport-size photograph (10 kb – 200 kb), signature (10 kb – 50 kb), and category/disability certificates if applicable. You will also need to capture a live photograph using a webcam.

  4. Pay Examination Fee: Pay the required fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.

  5. Download Confirmation: Download and print the Confirmation Page for your records.
