Vacancy Details

OHPC is recruiting 125 Technical Non-Executive Trainees to support operations across its hydro projects and renewable energy initiatives. Details of vacancies are mentioned below.

Educational Details

Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications as per the respective post:

• Electrical Trainee, Mechanical Trainee, Welder Trainee, Crane Operator Trainee: Must have passed HSC (Class 10th) and possess an approved ITI Trade Certificate in the respective discipline from NCVT/SCVT.

• Store Keeper Trainee: Must be a Graduate in Commerce or Arts or Science from a recognized university.

Salary (Emoluments)

The selected candidates will undergo a one-year training period, followed by regularization in the respective cadre.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as of August 1, 2025.

Age Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxation is provided as per government rules: 5 years for SC/ST/SEBC/Women candidates, and 10 years for PwD candidates (40% or more disability).

Selection Process

The selection process for the TNE Trainee posts consists of the following stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): The online test will consist of 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 120 marks over a duration of 2 hours.

   • Part-A (40 Marks): General Aptitude, Reasoning, English, General Awareness.

   • Part-B (80 Marks): Questions specific to the candidate’s respective discipline/trade.

   • Note: There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

2. Document Verification (DV): Candidates shortlisted from the CBT (typically in a ratio of 1:5) will be called for document verification at Bhubaneswar.

3. Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to the candidate clearing the prescribed medical fitness standards of OHPC.
