Education Details
To be eligible for the RBI Assistant post, candidates must meet the following educational qualifications as of 01 February 2026:
Bachelor’s Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) in the aggregate.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing on a PC is mandatory.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in the language of the state/recruiting office (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) is required.
Salary
Selected candidates will draw a starting basic pay of ₹20,700/- per month in the scale of ₹20700 – 1200 (3) – 24300 – 1440 (4) – 30060 – 1920 (6) – 41580 – 2080 (2) – 45740 – 2370 (3) – 52850 – 2850 (1) – 55700.
Gross Emoluments: Approximately ₹47,849/- per month (including HRA and other allowances).

Selection Process
The selection procedure consists of three stages:
Preliminary Examination: Online objective test.
Main Examination: Online objective test (for candidates shortlisted from Prelims).
Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Conducted in the official/local language of the state.
RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern
1. Preliminary Examination (Phase I)
The Preliminary Exam is an online objective test consisting of 100 questions. It is qualifying in nature, meaning the marks obtained here will not be counted for the final merit list, but passing it is necessary to reach the Mains stage.

3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Candidates who qualify for the Main Examination will have to undergo a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).
- The test is qualifying in nature.
- Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) in the official local language of the state they have applied for.
- Candidates not proficient in the official/local language will be disqualified.
Important Note on Marking Scheme
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks (1/4th) for every wrong answer in both the Preliminary and Main examinations.
- All sections, except the English Language, will be available bilingually (in English and Hindi).
