Understanding the evaluation structure helps candidates gauge their performance before the final scorecard is out. Candidates are allowed to take up to three attempts for the SNAP exam. SIU considers the highest score out of the attempts for the final percentile calculation.

The exam consists of 60 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 60 marks. Test takers are awarded +1 mark for every correct answer, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect attempt. SIU does not release an official answer key, meaning candidates will directly receive their scaled score and percentile in the final result. The exam tests candidates on General English (15 Qs), Analytical & Logical Reasoning (25 Qs), and Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (20 Qs).
