G.O.Rt.No. 1633 Telangana List of Holidays 2024 TS General Optional Holidays for 2024: The following Notification shall be published in the next issue of Telangana Extraordinary Gazette: NOTIFICATION.
2024 సంవత్సరానికి తెలంగాణలో ప్రభుత్వ కార్యాలయాలు, స్కూళ్ళు, కాలేజీలకు సెలవులను ప్రకటించింది. ప్రభుత్వ ప్ర‌ధాన కార్య‌ద‌ర్శి శాంతి కుమారి ఈమేరకు ఉత్త‌ర్వులు జారీ చేశారు. వచ్చే ఏడాదిలో అన్ని పండుగలతో కలిపి 27 సాధారణ(జనరల్‌), 25 ఆఫ్షనల్‌(ఐచ్ఛిక సెలవులు) హాలీడేస్‌ ఇస్తున్నట్లు ఉత్వర్వుల్లో ప్రభుత్వం పేర్కొంది.
జ‌న‌వ‌రి 15న సంక్రాంతి సెలవు, మార్చి 8న మ‌హా శివ‌రాత్రి, మార్చి 25న హోలి, ఏప్రిల్ 9న ఉగాది, ఏప్రిల్ 17న శ్రీరామ‌న‌వమి, జూన్ 17న బ‌క్రీద్, సెప్టెంబ‌ర్ 7న వినాయక చ‌వితి, అక్టోబ‌ర్ 10న ద‌స‌రా, అక్టోబ‌ర్ 31న దీపావ‌ళికి సెల‌వులుగా పేర్కొంది. ఈ సారి సంక్రాంతి, ద‌స‌రా, క్రిస్టమస్ పండ‌గ‌కు స్కూల్స్‌, కాలేజీలకు ఎక్కువ రోజులు రానున్నాయి. అయితే 2024 ఫిబ్రవరి, మే, నవంబర్ నెలల్లో ఒక్కటి కూడా సాధారణ సెలవు లేదు. వచ్చే ఏడాది జ‌న‌వ‌రి, అక్టోబ‌ర్ నెల‌లో ఎక్కువ రోజులు సెలవులు వ‌చ్చాయి.
The Government of Telangana hereby notifies that during the year 2024 the days specified in Annexure-I shall be observed as General Holidays by all the State Government Offices including the days for occasions / festivals which fall on Sundays and also notify Optional Holidays for State Government offices as shown in Annexure-II including the days for occasions / festivals which are falling on Sundays.
The State Government directs that all offices under State Government shall remain closed on all Sundays and Second Saturdays in all the months during the year 2024 except the Second Saturday (10.02.2024) in the month of February, 2024 which will be a working day in lieu of public holiday declared on 1st January, 2024.
In addition to the above mentioned General Holidays in Annexure I, the State Government employees may avail themselves of Optional Holidays not exceeding FIVE during the year 2024 on the festivals/occasions specified in Annexure-II to this order, at their option and irrespective of the religion to which the festival pertains. Permission to avail any of these holidays shall be applied for, in writing in advance and will normally be granted by the Superior Officer competent to grant casual leave except when the presence of an individual employee is considered necessary in exigencies of Government work.
The Government also directs that General Holidays shall not ipso-facto apply to the Industrial Establishment and Public Undertakings under the control of the State Government, the workmen engaged in Public Works Departments and Educational Institutions in this State. Separate orders regarding the festivals / occasions when these Institutions observe holidays shall be issued by the concerned Administrative Department of the Secretariat.
If there is any change of date in respect of Idu’l Fitar, Idu’l Azha, Muharram and Id-e-Milad as per the moon sight or any other holiday declared now, it shall be announced through electronic/print media. All the Departments of Secretariat, Heads of Departments and District Collectors shall take action according to such an announcement and without waiting for formal order about the change of date.

GENERAL HOLIDAYS UNDER NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS ACT, 1881
Under the Explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (Central Act XXVI of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No.20-25/26/Pub.I, dated 8-6-1957, the Government of Telangana hereby declare that in addition to expressly defined Public Holidays in the said “Explanation” the following days shall be observed as Holidays in the Telangana State during the year 2024.
HOLIDAYS – Holidays under Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 for the year 2024– Notified.
