Osmania University has released the Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS TET – 2025) notification to recruit and promote Lecturers/Assistant Professors in Degree Colleges/Universities in Telangana as per the University Grants Commission Regulations.
According to the notification, the officials will conduct the TSSET 2025 Exam in the second Week of December 2025. The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and consist of two papers. The TSSET will be conducted in 27 subjects as per the scheduled dates. Eligible candidates can apply online from 10 October 2025 on the official website, telanganaset.org.

TS SET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
a. The candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree (i.e., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MLISC, M.Ed., M.PEd., MCJ, LLM, MCA and M.Tech (CSE & IT only)) are eligible to apply. However, in the case of the Backwards Classes (BC)/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Persons with Disability (PwD) category, candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree are eligible for this Test.
b. The candidates who are pursuing their Master’s Degree course or those who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited, or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed, may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally. They shall be eligible for Assistant Professor / Lecturer eligibility after passing their Master’s Degree examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of BC/SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disability) category candidates. Such candidates must complete their Master’s Degree examination within two years from the date of the SET result with the required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
c. Candidates belonging to the third gender, in other words, transgender candidates, would be eligible to receive the same fee, age, and qualifying criteria relaxation for the TS-SET examination as is available to SC/ST/ PwD categories.
d.The Ph.D. Degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991(irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
e.Candidates are advised to appear only in the subject of their postgraduate studies.
f. See the list of Subjects in Point No. 12 where the TS-SET examination is conducted.
g. Candidates are neither required to send any certificates/documents in support of their eligibility nor print out their Application Form (Confirmation Page) to the TS-SET office. However, in their own interest, the candidates must satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the Test. Also, the candidates must show their original certificates at the certificate verification stage. This applies only to qualified candidates. If the TS-SET detects any ineligibility at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled, and they shall be liable for legal action.
h. Candidates having a Post-Graduate Diploma awarded by an Indian University/ Institute or a Foreign Degree/Diploma awarded by a Foreign University/ Institute should, in their interest, ascertain the equivalence of their Degree /Diploma with a Master’s Degree of recognised Indian universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. - Application form registration fees, as stated below, are to be paid through the online system only by Credit Card or debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, or mobile Wallets, for which service charges, as per the rules, shall be applicable in addition to the registration fees.
- No other mode of payment shall be permitted.
- This fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
