TN TET 2026: Eligibility Details

Employment Status: To be eligible, candidates must be Working Teachers appointed on or before 01.09.2025. This applies to Secondary Grade Teachers (SGT), BT Assistants, and other equivalent cadre teachers working on Time Scale, Consolidated, or Part-time pay.

Applicable Departments/Schools: Teachers must be employed under the Directorate of School Education, Elementary Education, Welfare Departments (Adi-Dravida, Tribal, MBC), Corporations (Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai), Forest Department, or other Government, Government Aided, and Unaided Recognized Private Schools in Tamil Nadu.

Educational Qualification:

  • General: Qualifications as defined in G.O.(Ms).No.13 (dated 30.01.2020) and NCTE norms.
  • Special Education: Teachers must meet qualifications mentioned in G.O.(Ms).No.144 (dated 17.06.2025).
  • Note: Candidates without the prescribed NCTE qualifications are liable for disqualification.

Examination Fee

The examination fee must be paid online via Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Offline payments are not accepted.

  • General Category: 60% (90 Marks)
  • BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, PWD: 50% (75 Marks)
  • SC, SCA, ST: 40% (60 Marks)

How to Apply

  2. Register: Use a valid mobile number and email ID (mandatory).
  3. Fill Application: Enter personal details, educational qualifications, and service details carefully. Separate applications are needed for Paper I and II.
  4. Upload Documents:
    • Photo: Color, 40-60 KB (JPG/JPEG/PNG).
    • Signature: 20-40 KB (JPG/JPEG/PNG).
    • Certificates: Service Certificate (Annexure-I), Community Certificate, and Educational Marksheets/Degrees. PDF format, size 250-300 KB.
  5. Pay Fee: Pay the examination fee online via the payment gateway.
  6. Submit: Verify all details and submit before 10.04.2026.
