The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 7994 Lekhpal vacancies under the Revenue Council, Uttar Pradesh. This is a golden opportunity for 12th-pass candidates who have appeared for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025. Vacancy Details

Education Qualification

To be eligible for the UPSSSC Lekhpal Recruitment 2026, candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements:

• Essential Qualification: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (Class 12th) examination from the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh, or any examination recognized as equivalent by the Government.

• PET Requirement: Candidates must have appeared in the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and possess a valid scorecard. Shortlisting for the Mains exam will be based on the PET-2025 normalized score.

• Note: Candidates with zero or negative marks in PET-2025 are not eligible to apply.

Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed to the post of Lekhpal with the following salary structure:

• Pay Matrix Level: Level-3
• Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100
• Grade Pay: ₹2,000 (Pre-revised)

Age Limit

The age limit for candidates is calculated as of 01 July 2025:

• Minimum Age: 18 Years

• Maximum Age: 40 Years

• Age Relaxation is applicable for Reserved Categories (SC/ST/OBC etc.) as per Uttar Pradesh Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection procedure for UPSSSC Lekhpal involves the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on UPSSSC PET-2025 Scores (approx. 15 times the number of vacancies).

2. Written Mains Examination: A single objective-type paper of 100 marks (100 questions) with a duration of 2 hours.

   • Part 1: General Knowledge subjects (History, Polity, Geography, Economy, Rural Development, Science, etc.) – 65 Marks.

   • Part 2: Computer & Information Technology – 15 Marks.

   • Part 3: UP State General Knowledge – 20 Marks.

   • Negative Marking: 1/4th (25%) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

3. Document Verification.

For the online application, candidates are required to pay only the online processing fee. The main examination fee will be paid later by the shortlisted candidates.

4. Verify your personal details (fetched from PET data) and fill in the required educational qualifications (Intermediate details).

5. Enter the verification code and submit the application form.

6. Proceed to the “Fee Payment” section and pay the processing fee of ₹25.

7. After successful payment, download and print the final application form and the fee receipt for future reference.

8. Note: Any modification to the application can be made until 04 February 2026.
