IGCAR Apprentice Recruitment 2026-27 for 200 Vacancies, Apply Online

Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, a premier Research and Development Centre under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has issued an official recruitment notification (Advt. No. IGCAR/03/2026) for the engagement of Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A total of 200 vacancies are available across multiple ITI trades for one-year training at Kalpakkam, Tamil Nadu. Candidates with relevant ITI qualifications can submit their applications online before the closing date, i.e., August 19.

Vacancy Details

IGCAR has announced 200 Trade Apprentice vacancies across 18 distinct trades for 2026–27. Positions are available for various disciplines including Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, PASAA, and Welder. Category-wise reservations are allocated as UR-86, OBC-54, SC-38, EWS-20, ST-2, and PwBD-8.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed 10th Standard or 8th Standard (as applicable) and possess an ITI Pass Certificate (NCVT/SCVT) in the respective trade.

Note: Applicants who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act 1961 in any organization are not eligible.

Stipend

• For 2-Year Duration ITI Courses: Rs. 11,040/- per month
• For 1-Year Duration ITI Courses: Rs. 10,560/- per month

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years (as on 19/08/2026)

• Maximum Age: 24 years (as on 19/08/2026)

• Age Relaxations:

  • SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years

  • OBC (NCL) Candidates: 3 Years

  • PwBD Candidates: 10 Years

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting: Applicants will be shortlisted for training based on the percentage of marks obtained in their ITI course.

2. Tie-Resolution: In case of a tie in ITI percentage, marks obtained in 10th/8th standard will be considered. If the tie persists, the candidate born earlier will be preferred.

3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must attend document verification at Kalpakkam.

4. Medical Examination: Candidates must qualify the standard medical examination prescribed by competent authorities.

2. Complete AADHAR (e-KYC) verification on the portal to obtain a unique Registration Number (e.g., AXXXXXXXXXX).

4. Click on the online application link for Advertisement No. IGCAR/03/2026.
5. Fill in all personal, educational, and apprenticeship registration details accurately.
6. Upload scanned PDF documents including Caste/EWS/Disability certificates, 8th/10th mark sheets, and combined ITI trade certificates/mark sheets.
7. Review the details carefully and submit the online application form before 19-08-2026.
8. Take a printout of the submitted application form to present during document verification.
