Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) Kolkata is recruiting for 62 positions across Scientific, Technical, Administrative, and Auxiliary cadres. The drive includes posts such as Scientist ‘C’, Scientific Assistant ‘B’, Technician ‘B’, LDC, Security Guard ‘A’, Work Assistant ‘A’, and Cook, categorized under direct recruitment and deputation.

SINP Kolkata 2026 Education Details

• Scientist ‘C’: M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Optics / Photonics / Electronics from a recognized University/Institution.

• Scientific Assistant ‘B’: Diploma in Computer Software Technology, Computer Science & Technology, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, or Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering.

• Technician ‘B’: SSC/HSC pass with ITI (minimum 1 year duration) in relevant trade (Computer Hardware, Welding, Civil Draughtsmanship, Carpentry, Electrician, AC/Refrigeration, Electronics, or COPA) along with 3 years of experience.

• Assistant Administrative Officer-I: Officers holding analogous posts in DAE/Aided institutions or 3 years regular service in Pay Level-6 (on Deputation).

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Graduate from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks and a typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English on computer.

• Security Guard ‘A’: SSC or equivalent pass with physical fitness as per GOI norms and 2 years of relevant experience (Ex-servicemen with 15 years service are also eligible).

• Work Assistant ‘A’: Secondary School Certificate (SSC/10th) pass or equivalent with minimum 1 year experience in relevant field.

• Halwai-cum-Cook: 10th class pass with Certificate/Diploma in Catering and 2 years of experience.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive basic pay as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), along with standard DA, HRA, and applicable allowances:

• Scientist ‘C’: Level 10

• Assistant Administrative Officer-I: Level 7

• Scientific Assistant ‘B’: Level 6

• Technician ‘B’ & Halwai-cum-Cook: Level 3

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Level 2

• Security Guard ‘A’ & Work Assistant ‘A’: Level 1

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on the closing date of online application (15-09-2026):

• Scientist ‘C’: Maximum 33 years

• Scientific Assistant ‘B’: Maximum 30 years

• Technician ‘B’ & Halwai-cum-Cook: Maximum 25 years

• LDC, Security Guard ‘A’, Work Assistant ‘A’: Maximum 27 years

• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), 10 to 15 years for PwBD candidates, and relaxations for Ex-Servicemen / Central Govt Employees as per GOI rules.

Selection Process

1. Scientist ‘C’: Screening / Written Test (Qualifying, if conducted) followed by personal Interview (Final Merit based on Interview).

2. Scientific Assistant ‘B’ & Technician ‘B’: Phase I Written Test (Qualifying) and Phase II Trade Test (Final Merit based on Trade Test).

3. AAO-I: Written Exam and perusal of APARs.

4. Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Phase I Written Test and Phase II Typing Skill Test (Qualifying).

5. Security Guard ‘A’: Phase I Physical Fitness Test (Qualifying) and Phase II Written Test.

6. Work Assistant ‘A’: MCQ-based Written Test.

7. Halwai-cum-Cook: Phase I Written Test (Qualifying) and Phase II Cooking Skill Test.

Application Fee

• Scientist ‘C’ and Scientific Assistant ‘B’: Rs. 500/-

• All Other Posts: Rs. 300/-

• Fee Exemption: All Women candidates, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Deputation applicants, and SC/ST candidates (applying for reserved posts) are completely exempted from paying the fee.

2. Fill in the online application form with personal, educational, and experience details.

3. Pay the required application fee via online remittance mode before submitting the application (if applicable).

4. Upload self-attested PDF copies of age proof, educational memos, ITI/diploma certificates, caste/PwBD certificates, photo, and signature.

5. Submit the online form and save the generated application as a PDF file.

6. Merge the saved application PDF and supporting certificates into a single PDF document (named as Post Code_Application No.).
