APPSC District Probation Officer Age Limit

  • Standard Age Range: The age criteria generally set by the APPSC for state subordinate services is 18 to 42 years.

  • Crucial Date: The release date of the Detailed Notification will serve as the crucial cutoff date for determining age and educational eligibility.

  • Age Relaxations: Upper age relaxations will be applicable to SC, ST, BC, EWS, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen categories in accordance with the existing Government of Andhra Pradesh rules.

APPSC District Probation Officer Selection Process

The selection will be conducted through a single-level examination (no screening test will be held) followed by a practical computer test:

  1. Computer-Based Recruitment Test (CBRT): Objective-type written examination for a total of 300 marks.

    • Paper-I: General Studies & Mental Ability (Degree Standard) – 150 Questions, 150 Minutes, 150 Marks.

    • Paper-II (Subject): Social Work and Criminology / Psychology – 150 Questions, 150 Minutes, 150 Marks.

    • Negative Marking: A penalty of $1/3^{\text{rd}}$ of the marks will be deducted for every incorrect response.

  2. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): Practical test of 60 minutes for 100 marks covering Office Automation, Operating Systems, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Presentation Software.

    • Qualifying Marks: SC/ST/PwBD – 30 marks, BCs – 35 marks, OCs – 40 marks.

  3. Document Verification: Verification of original academic qualifications, community certificates, and other required documents prior to final selection.
