Education Details
To be eligible, candidates must possess the requisite qualifications as of November 1, 2026:
- For Mate Mines (Fresher) & Shotfirer/Blaster (Mines): Candidates must have passed the 10th / Matric examination under the 10+2 system of education or its equivalent. No ITI qualification is required for these specific trades.
- For All Other Trades: Candidates must have passed the 10th / Matric examination AND possess an ITI pass certificate in the concerned trade from a recognized institute.
- Note: Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as a Diploma, B.E., or equivalent are not eligible. Additional academic degrees like B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com will not confer any extra weightage.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years of age as of the cut-off date (01.11.2026).
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates in accordance with government guidelines.

HCL Trade Apprentice Jobs 2026 Selection Process
The selection will be based strictly on a merit list prepared from the candidate’s academic marks:
- For Trades Requiring ITI: A weightage of 70% will be assigned to marks scored in the 10th board, and a weightage of 30% will be assigned to marks scored in the relevant ITI trade.
- For Fresher Trades (Mate Mines & Blaster Mines): 100% weightage will be given to the marks scored in the 10th Board.
- Tie-Breaker: If two or more candidates secure equal marks, the candidate who is older in age will be placed higher on the merit list.
- Medical Fitness: Final engagement is subject to candidates being declared medically fit according to HCL’s requirements.
