Although schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conduct their own annual exams for Class 8, the syllabus is the one recommended by CBSE – the NCERT curriculum. All schools affiliated to CBSE use the NCERT textbooks of the respective subjects. For Science too, Class 8 students of CBSE affiliated schools refer to the NCERT Science textbooks. Even national-level competitive exams are based on the NCERT textbooks. So, it is very important that students finish the NCERT textbooks.
