Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board has announced 108 apprenticeship positions for the 2026–27 training cycle. The vacancies are divided into 76 Graduate Apprentice posts and 32 Technician Diploma Apprentice posts across Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering streams.

CMWSSB Apprentice 2026 Education Details

• Graduate Apprentices: A full-time Degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline granted by a Statutory University or an Institution empowered by an Act of Parliament, or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.

• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: A full-time Diploma in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education, or a recognized University/Institution.

• Year of Passing: Candidates must have passed their qualifying examination in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or May 2026.

• Domicile Eligibility: Candidates must hail from Tamil Nadu.

• Prior Experience Bar: Applicants who have already undergone or are currently undergoing NATS/NAPS apprenticeship or have 1 year or more job experience are not eligible.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly stipend for the one-year training duration as follows:

• Graduate Apprentices: Rs. 12,300/- per month

• Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Rs. 10,900/- per month

Age Limit

The age limit for applicants will strictly follow the standard rules prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules. Category-wise reservations (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) will be applied as per statutory guidelines.

Selection Process

The selection process involves the following key stages:

1. Shortlisting: The Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region) will prepare a merit shortlist based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying Degree or Diploma examination.

2. Intimation: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via their registered email address, and the shortlist will be hosted on the NATS website.

3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must report in person for Certificate Verification at CMWSSB, Chennai.
