Education Details

To be eligible for the Technician posts, candidates must meet one of the following requirements as on the closing date (October 4, 2026):
  • SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects, securing a minimum of 55% marks, AND an ITI Certificate or National/State Trade Certificate in the relevant trade.
  • SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects, securing a minimum of 55% marks, AND 2 years of full-time experience as an apprentice trainee from a recognized institution in the relevant trade.
  • SSC/10th Standard or equivalent with Science subjects, securing a minimum of 55% marks, AND 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade in a Ministry/Department/Organization/PSU/Autonomous Body under the Government of India/State/UT.

Salary

  • Pay Matrix: Level-02 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200) as per the 7th CPC.
  • Approximate Gross Monthly Emoluments: ₹39,970/- per month (inclusive of Basic Pay, DA, TA, and HRA for Class ‘X’ city).

Age Limit

(As on October 4, 2026)
  • Minimum Age: 18 years.
  • Maximum Age: 28 years for UR/EWS candidates.
  • Upper Age Relaxations:

    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
    • PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 years
    • PwBD (OBC): 13 years
    • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
    • Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (UR/EWS), 6 years (OBC), 8 years (SC/ST) after deduction of actual military service
    • CSIR/Govt/Autonomous Body Regular Employees: 5 years
    • Widows/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women (not remarried): Up to 35 years (UR/EWS/OBC) or 40 years (SC/ST)

Selection Process

The selection methodology comprises two main stages:
  1. Stage-I: Trade Test: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a practical trade test to evaluate their skills relevant to the job requirements. This stage is qualifying in nature.
  2. Stage-II: Competitive Written Examination (CWE): Candidates who qualify for the trade test will proceed to the OMR/Computer-Based written exam comprising 150 questions (2 hours 30 minutes).

    • Paper-I (Mental Ability Test): 50 questions, 100 marks (No negative marking).
    • Paper-II (General Awareness & English Language): 50 questions, 150 marks (1 negative mark for each wrong answer).
    • Paper-III (Concerned Subject): 50 questions, 150 marks (1 negative mark for each wrong answer).
    • Note: Final merit is based strictly on the marks obtained in Paper-II and Paper-III, provided the candidate meets the minimum threshold in Paper-I.

  • General / OBC / EWS Candidates: ₹500/-.
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Women / Ex-Servicemen: Exempted (Nil).
  • Payment Mode: Online only via SBI Collect portal.

  • Click on the “New Registration” button to create an account using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  • Log in using the generated credentials to access the Online Application Portal.
  • Fill in all mandatory personal, educational, and experience details.
  • If applying for multiple post codes, submit separate applications for each along with separate fee payments.
  • Upload a recent scanned passport-size colour photograph, signature, and necessary certificates (like SSC marksheet, ITI/Apprentice certificate, Caste/EWS/PwBD proof, and NOC if currently employed) in the prescribed format.
  • Pay the application fee of ₹500/- (if applicable) through SBI Collect under the specified category, and upload the e-receipt.
  • Review your entries and click ‘Final Submit’. Once submitted, take a printout of the application form for future reference (do not send hard copies).
