Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has announced the admission process for its prestigious Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026. As a premier Science and Technology University re-accredited with a NAAC ‘A+’ Grade, CUSAT offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs across its three campuses.
Online registration for CUSAT CAT 2026 began in January 2026. While specific exam dates will be announced on the official portal, MBA applications must be submitted by April 30, 2026, to be considered for admission.

Programs Offered through CUSAT CAT 2026
B.Tech Programs: Civil, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, Mechanical, Safety and Fire, Marine Engineering, and Naval Architecture.
Integrated Programs (5-Year): M.Sc. in Photonics, Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, and Environmental Science.
Law Programs: BBA LL.B. (H), B.Com. LL.B. (H), and B.Sc. LL.B. (H) .
Postgraduate: MCA, M.Sc. (various specializations), M.A. Applied Economics, and MBA (Full-time/Evening/Executive).
Eligibility Details
B.Tech (General): Must pass 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). A minimum of 50% in Mathematics and 50% in PCM aggregate is required.
B.Tech Marine Engineering: Pass 10+2 with PCM average of 60% and 50% in Mathematics. English must be passed with 50% in 10th or 12th.
5-Year Integrated MCA: Pass 10+2 with 50% marks, including Mathematics/Computer Science/IT as an optional subject.
PG Programs: Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
Admission Process
Registration: Candidates must register online at the official admission portal.
Entrance Test: Admission to most UG/PG courses is based on the CUSAT CAT rank.
Specialized Admissions:
B.Tech Marine Engineering: Based on Indian Maritime University (IMU) CET rank.
M.Tech: Primarily based on valid GATE scores; DAT is conducted for non-GATE candidates.
MBA: Based on C-MAT, K-MAT, or IIM-CAT scores followed by a Personal Interview.
Counseling: Qualified candidates must participate in online option registration to select their preferred branches.
Application Fee
General Candidates: ₹1,500 for up to two test codes.
Kerala SC/ST Candidates: ₹700.
NRI Seats: Additional ₹5,000.
International Candidates: US $110.
Course-wise Exam Pattern
Test Code 101 (B.Tech/Integrated M.Sc): 225 objective questions (90 Maths, 75 Physics, 60 Chemistry). Duration: 3 hours.
Test Code 104 (Biological Sciences): 225 questions (60 Physics, 75 Chemistry, 90 Biology). Duration: 3 hours.
Test Code 201 (Law): 150 questions covering Law, Reasoning, English, and GK.
Scoring: For each right answer, 4 marks are awarded; for each wrong answer, 1 mark is deducted.
