DGAFMS Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

The post wise age limit and essential qualification/experience is as under

Educational Qualifications

(i) 12th class pass or equivalent from recognized Board/University;
(ii) Skill Test Norms – Dictation: 10 Minutes @ 80 words per minute and the duration of transcription of the same as mentioned below
(aa) Manual Typewriter. 65 Minutes for English, 75 Minute for Hindi
Or
(ab) On Computer. 50 minutes for English, 65 minutes for Hindi.
(c) Lower Division Clerk
(i) 12th class pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board;
(ii) A typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi on manual typewriter;
Or
A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer.

(35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depressions Per Hour or 9000 Key Depressions Per
Hour on an average of 5 Key depressions for each word)

(d) Store Keeper
Essential:
(i) 12th class from a recognized Board or University.

(ii) One-year experience in handling Stores and keeping accounts in a Store or a concern of Central or State Government, autonomous or statutory organization, PSUs or University or banks or in a private sector organization listed on the stock exchange(s) of India.

Note: The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the competent authority in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes if, any state of selection, the competent authority is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available
to fill-up the vacancies reserved for them.

(e) Photographer
(i) Essential
(aa) 12th Pass or equivalent, (ab) Diploma in Photography
(ii) Desirable
(aa) Three years experience in photography,
(ab) Must be fully conversant with art and technique of photography and knowledge of laboratory processing
work.
(f) Fireman
(i) Matriculation or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
(ii) Physical Fitness:
(aa) Height : 165 cm (minimum) for males and 155 cm (minimum) for females with 5 cm relaxation for candidates (male & female) of hilly areas.
(ab)Weight : 50 Kgs (minimum) for males and 43 kgs (minimum)for females.
(ac) Chest (non-expanded) : 81.5cms (ad) Chest (Upon expansion):85.0 cms (ad) Eye Sight : 6/6
(ae) Endurance Test :
(aaa) Carrying a man (fireman lift of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds)
(aab) Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jumps)
(aac) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet
3. Technical:
(a) Must have undergone training in Fire Fighting under a State fire service or a government recognized institute not less than 30 working days.
(b) Must be conversant with the use and the maintenance of all types of extinguishers, Hose Fittings and Fire appliances and equipments like Fire Engines, Trailer Fire Pumps and Foam Branches.
Desirable: –
(j) Valid license for driving of LMV.
(ii) Experience of having worked in a regular Civil or Defence Fire Brigade as Fireman from any Government.
(iii) Have passed the General Fire Fighting Course from any
Government recognized institute.
(g) Cook
(i) Matriculation pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board
(ii) Proficiency in the trade
(h) Lab Attendant
(i) Matriculation or equivalent with Science as one of the subject.
(ii) Preferably should have worked in laboratory or Chemical /Drug factory for one year.
(j) Multi-Tasking
Staff
(i) Matriculation from a recognized Board.
(k) Tradesman Mate
(i) Matriculation pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or Ex-servicemen of appropriate trade
(ii) Apprenticeship or competency in any one of the following trades: Fitter, Welder, Watch Repairer, Blacksmith, Molder, Cutler, Painter, Tinsmith, Tin and Coppersmith, Carpenter and
Joiner, and Sawyer.
(l) Washerman
(i) Matriculation or equivalent pass from a recognized Board.
(ii) Proficiency in the trade.
(m) Carpenter & Joiner
(i) Matriculation pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
(ii) Certificate in the trade from a recognized industrial training institute or apprenticeship at a reputed establishment/firm;
(iii) 3 years experience in the trade.
(n) Tinsmith
(i) Matriculation pass or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
(ii) Certificate in the trade from a recognized technical industrial training institute or apprenticeship at a reputed establishment
/firm;
(iii) 3 years experience in the trade.

The crucial date for reckoning the age limit and essential qualification is the last date of receipt of application. However, age relaxation will be applicable as per Government instructions:-

  1. 03 years for the candidates belonging to OBC,
  2. 05 years for the candidates belonging to SC/ST Category,
  3. 10 years for the candidates belonging to Physically Handicapped. (Additional 05 years in case of Physically Handicapped belonging to SC, ST and 03 years for OBC category),
  4. Ex-servicemen: Ex-servicemen who have rendered not less than 06 months of continuous service after attestation in the Armed Forces shall be allowed to deduct the full period of such service from their actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age by more than three years, they shall be deemed to be within age limits.
  5. Central Government Civilian Employees who have rendered not less than 3 years of regular and continuous service as on closing date of receipt of online application – upto 40 years of age and upto 45 years of age for SC/ST .
  6. Widows / Divorced Women / Women judicially separated and who are not remarried – upto 35 years of age and upto 40 years of aged for SC/ST.

Selection Process

Selection will be made on the basis of competitive examination which will consist of two parts:-

  • Written Examination of 100 marks.
  • Typing test/short hand test/trade test wherever applicable to the post & will be of qualifying nature.
