Test Format of GRE Syllabus 2023

The GRE exam will contains two Formats. One is General test and second one is Subject Test. To get the clearance we have provided below.

  • GRE General Test:The GRE General Test measures Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Critical Reasoning & Analytical Writing Skills.
  • GRE Subject Tests:And the GRE Subject Tests will have the disciplines of Biology, Chemistry, Literature in Engish, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology.

Section-1: This section comprises of the Questions from Analytical Writing. Here two tasks are given to every individual in the computer-based test. The time given to finish the tasks is 60 minutes for both the tests.  For computerized test 1 section and two tasks. But for paper test 2 sections two tasks are present.

Section-2: In this section, the Questions appear from Verbal Reasoning.  The time given to this section is 60 minutes. Moreover, this section is again divided into the other two sections. And 40 Questions appear from the whole section. For the paper test, two sections and 50 questions and the time interval is 70 minutes.

Section-3: This section of GRE contains the Quantitative Reasoning questions. There are again two sections that are present in this. The time given to complete the two sections is 70 minutes. Wholly, 40 questions appear from this section. But for paper-based test 2 sections, 50 questions and time to complete the section is 80 minutes.

After completing these sections the higher authority of GRE will conduct two sections after a 10 minutes break. These additional sections are only for the computer-based test candidates. Those two sections are Unscored and Research. The number of subsections in each section and period is decided later by the management team of GRE.
