ICG AC – Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant – GD & Technical (2027 Batch) Notification: The Indian Coast Guard is inviting Online Applications to Join ICG as Assistant Commandant – General Duty, Technical (Engineering & Electrical/Electronics) for the 2027 batch. The Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union, offers a vibrant career to young and dynamic Indian male candidates for various branches as an Assistant Commandant (Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer). There are 170 Vacancies mentioned in the Notification, Out of which 140 posts are General Duty (GD) and 30 posts of Technical (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics). OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE). Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE). Selection Process
The selection of Assistant Commandants is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidates in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination. The details of various stages of examination are as follows:-
- Stage-I {Coast Guard Common Admission Test(CGCAT)}.
- Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}.
- Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB).
- Stage-IV (Medical Examination).
- Stage-V (Induction).

Application Fee
All candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/Credit/Debit Card/UPI. Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee or who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.

- Fill the application form.
- Pay the application fee.
- Click on the submit button for final submission.
- Save and take printouts for future use.
In case of any ambiguity regarding eligibility criteria, date and time of examination, and other procedures, the contents given in the Coast Guard recruitment website www.joinindiancoastguard.gov.in and published in Employment News will be final.
The important instructions for filling up of the online applications are as given below
- The name of the candidate, father/mother’s name and date of birth should be the same as mentioned in the class passing certificate. Any mismatch in name & date of birth in the application will result in rejection of the application.
- Indicate the exact percentage of XIIth and Graduation marks upto two decimals and this is not to be rounded off.
- Candidates to choose any one venue for PSB out of the options displayed.
- Filling up of information like the personal email ID and Mobile number of the candidate is compulsory. The date, time, and venue of the test and other information will be provided through personal email ID or CG Recruitment website.
- Applicants, either current or permanent address of online application should be same as the address mentioned in caste/category certificate (SC, ST, OBC& EWS).
- In case of OBC Non-Creamy Layer (NCL), the category certificate should be as per the format for appointment for post under the Govt. of India. The format of the OBC (Non Creamy) certificate is available on ICG website (No other format will be entertained). Any other format will lead to cancellation of candidature.
