Karnataka NMMS 2026-27 Scholarship Exam Details
Eligibility Details
- Educational Status: Candidates must be enrolled as regular students in Class 8 for the 2026-27 academic cycle in a Government, Aided, or Local body school within Karnataka.
- Class 7 Performance: General and OBC candidates must possess at least 55% marks in their Class 7 annual exams, whereas SC and ST candidates require a minimum of 50% marks or an equivalent grade.
- Income Limit: The cumulative annual income of the student’s parents from all sources must not exceed Rs. 3,50,000/- across all categories.
- Exclusions: Students attending residential schools (e.g., Morarji Desai, Kittur Rani Chennamma, Navodaya, Vajpayee, Ekalavya, KGBV, Ambedkar Residential Schools), Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools, or any private aided residential schools are not eligible to participate.
Scholarship Details
- Candidates who pass the exam and make it to the merit list will be awarded a scholarship of Rs. 1,000 per month (Rs. 12,000 annually) for a period of four years spanning from Class 9 to Class 12.
- The funds are transferred directly into the student’s bank account by DoSEL, and beneficiaries must re-apply/renew their scholarship online every year through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP 2.0).
- Renewal Criteria: To continue receiving the scholarship, students are mandated to score a minimum of 55% in Classes 9 and 11, and at least 60% in Class 10 (with a 5% relaxation granted to SC/ST students). They must clear the exams in their first attempt. Furthermore, students must pursue their continued education strictly in Government, Aided, or Local body schools/colleges. Students opting for ITI, Diploma programs, or foreign studies lose their eligibility.

Karnataka NMMS 2026-27 How to Apply
- Direct applications by students or parents are not permitted; applications must be routed entirely online by the School Headmaster or Principal.
- School authorities must log in to the NMMS section of the official website at KSEAB Official Portal using their school’s U-DISE code as the User Name and enter their designated password.
- The Headmaster must enter a valid mobile number as an OTP verification step is mandatory during login.
- Enter the applicant’s SATS number to automatically pull the student’s academic and school data into the form. (Note: Any discrepancies in this fetched data must be corrected in the SATS database first and synced, as manual editing is blocked in the NMMS form).
- Fill in all remaining manual entries, particularly ensuring the exact RD Number from valid Caste and Income certificates is provided for SC/ST/OBC claimants, along with detailed bank account information (Account Number, Bank Name, Branch, IFSC Code).
- Upload a clear, front-facing passport photograph (between 60-80 KB) and the student’s signature (between 20-50 KB) saved in JPEG format.
- Verify the completed form, agree to the declarations, and click ‘Submit’ on or before October 30, 2026.
- After submission, Headmasters must generate a printout of the application report, acquire the signatures of the student and their parent, and securely file it in the school’s records alongside physical copies of the uploaded certificates.

ಾರಿ, ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ (Local body schools) ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 8ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ನೀಡುವುದು, ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಿಕ ಶಾಲಾ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಲೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗುಳಿಯದಂತೆ ತಡೆಯುವುದು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸದ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವುದು ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸದರಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ, ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್, ಉರ್ದು, ಮರಾಠಿ ಮತ್ತು ತೆಲುಗು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಶಾಲಾ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮೌಲ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಣಯ ಮಂಡಲಿಯ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಕ್ಯು.ಎ.ಎ.ಸಿ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು.
Eligibility
ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ, ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ (Local body schools) ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 2026-27ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ 8ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ NMMS ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ವಸತಿಯುತ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು NMMS ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಅರ್ಹರಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. (ಉದಾ: ಮೊರಾರ್ಜಿ ದೇಸಾಯಿ, ಕಿತ್ತೂರುರಾಣಿ ಚೆನ್ನಮ್ಮ, ನವೋದಯ ಶಾಲೆ, ವಾಜಪೇಯಿ ಶಾಲೆ, ಏಕಲವ್ಯ, ಕೆ.ಜಿ.ಬಿ.ವಿ, ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ವಸತಿ ಶಾಲೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ) ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯ, ಸೈನಿಕ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕೂಡ ಈ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಹರಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅನುದಾನ ಪಡೆಯುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ಖಾಸಗಿ ಅನುದಾನಿತ ವಸತಿ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸಹ ಈ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಅರ್ಹರಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಂಡಲಿ ಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಹ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಹಾಜರಾಗಲು ಅವಕಾಶವಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಹ ಶಾಲಾ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಶಿಸ್ತು ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು.
NMMS ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಇರುವ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳು
ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ, ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ (Local body schools) ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ Regular ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿ 8ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕು. ● ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು 7ನೇ ತರಗತಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವರ್ಗ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶೇ.55 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ತತ್ಸಮಾನ ಗ್ರೇಡ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ.ಜಾ ಮತ್ತು ಪ.ಪಂಗಡದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶೇ.50 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಅಥವಾ ತತ್ಸಮಾನ ಗ್ರೇಡ್ ಗಳಿಸಿರಬೇಕು. ಪೋಷಕರ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ವರಮಾನ ರೂ.3,50,000/- ಮೀರಿರಬಾರದು.
NMMS ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಉದ್ದೇಶಗಳು
1) 8ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು.
2) ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ನೀಡುವುದು.
3) ಪ್ರತಿಭಾವಂತ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶಾಲೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಗುಳಿಯದಂತೆ ತಡೆದು ಅವರ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಗೆ ಪೇರೇಪಿಸುವುದು.
ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ-1- ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ
( Mental Ability Test -MAT) ಈ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 90 ಬಹು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೂ ಒಂದು ಅಂಕದಂತೆ 90 ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕಾರಣ ನೀಡುವ, ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸುವ, ಸಂಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸುವ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳೆಯುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ-2-ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗಿಕ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ
(Scholastic Aptitude Test- SAT) ಈ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 90 ಅಂಕಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟು 90 ಬಹು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 35 ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ (ಭೌತಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ, ರಸಾಯನ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ಜೀವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ), 35 ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಸಮಾಜ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ (ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಭೂಗೋಳ, ರಾಜ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ, ಸಮಾಜಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ಮತ್ತು ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ) ಮತ್ತು 20 ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಗಣಿತ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿರುತ್ತವೆ.

NMMS ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ (Selection Procedure)
ಈ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ಎರಡು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಎರಡೂ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಶೇ.40 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಎರಡೂ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಶೇ.32 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕು. ಪ್ರತಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ಬರದ ಒಟ್ಟು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಜಾತಿ/ವರ್ಗಗಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಚಾಲ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅರ್ಹತಾ ನಿಯಮಗಳ ಅನುಸಾರ Rank ಆಧರಿಸಿ DSERT ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು.
8ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶೇ.55 ರಷ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಶೇ.50 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿರಬೇಕು.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ವಿತರಣೆ
* ಈ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದವರಿಗೆ 9ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಸಿಕ ರೂ.1000/-ರಂತೆ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ರೂ. 12,000/- ಗಳನ್ನು 4 ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ (ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಪಿ.ಯು.ಸಿ ಯವರೆಗೆ) ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನವನ್ನು DoSEL ವತಿಯಿಂದ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನವನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಖಾತೆಗೆ DoSEL ನವದೆಹಲಿ ರವರು ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿರುವ ಎನ್.ಎಸ್.ಪಿ 2.0 ವೆಬ್ ಸೈಟ್ : www.scholorships.gov.in ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನಕ್ಕೆ 9ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಿಂದ 12ನೇ ತರಗತಿವರೆಗೆ ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷವು ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಗೆ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳು
NMMS ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಗೆ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಹಿರಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗಿನಂತೆ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
- ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು 9 ಮತ್ತು 11ನೇ ತರಗತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ಶೇ.55 ರಷ್ಟು ಮತ್ತು 10ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ಶೇ.60 ರಷ್ಟು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ.ಜಾತಿ/ಪ.ಪಂ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಶೇ.5ರಷ್ಟು ವಿನಾಯಿತಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
- ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿವೇತನದ ಮುಂದುವರಿಕೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ತರಗತಿಯ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ ನಂತರದ 3 ತಿಂಗಳ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ಮುಂದಿನ ತರಗತಿಗೆ ದಾಖಲಾತಿ ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಕಡ್ಡಾಯ.
- ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ, ಅನುದಾನಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ (Local body schools) ಶಾಲೆ/ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ತಮ್ಮ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಬೇಕು.
- ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯು 9, 10 ಮತ್ತು 11ನೇ ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ (First Attempt) ದಲ್ಲೇ ತೇರ್ಗಡೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು
- ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಯೋಜನೆಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಪಡೆಯಲು
- ITI ಹಾಗೂ Diploma ಕೋರ್ಸ್ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುವವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
- ವಿದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗ ಮಾಡುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ ವೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
