Sub: Rescheduling the classes’ timing to mitigate the state’s heat wave situation for summer 2025.
I am directed to invite a reference to the subject cited above and to say that the Government, after careful consideration, has been pleased to take the following measures along with rescheduling the timing of Classes In all Educational Institutions under the School and Mass Education Department, i.e., Government, Government-Aided, and privately managed schools, to mitigate the Heat Wave situation in the State during Summer 2025.
School Timing
The school timing for Class-I to Class-Xll is rescheduled from 6.30 A.M.to 10.30 A.M. with immediate effect.
Drinking Water and Other Arrangements
- In all Schools, extra care must be taken to ensure the availability of drinking water. Wherever required, tube wells inside the school campus may be repaired to ensure an uninterrupted drinking water supply.
- Sufficient ORS packets need to be kept in Schools and provided to students/ staff requiring the same.
- Outdoor activities have to be restricted so as the students not to be exposed to heat wave condition.
- All the parents should be sensitized to ensure that their children carry a water bottle while going to school. This should be sufficiently publicized to create awareness among the parents.
- Schools may also be advised to allocate some time during school hours to give heat wave precautionary tips to the students.
You are also directed to keep a close watch on the weather condition and are authorized to modify the school timing based on field situation.
