OICL is recruiting a total of 300 Administrative Officers (Scale-I), with 285 posts for Generalist Officers and 15 posts for Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers, including backlog vacancies.

Education Details

The minimum educational qualification must have been possessed, and the result declared on or before 30.11.2025.

  • Generalist Officers: Graduate/Post Graduate in any stream from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in either the degree examination (55% for SC/ST candidates).

  • Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers: Master’s Degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).

    • OR Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or medium of examination at the degree level with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).

    • OR Master’s Degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi/English medium and the other language as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level with 60% marks (55% for SC/ST).

Note: The percentage of marks must be calculated as per the University’s aggregate maximum marks and a fraction of percentage will be ignored (e.g., 59.99% will be treated as less than 60%).

OICL AO 2025 Salary

The scale of pay for an Administrative Officer (Scale-I) is ₹50925-2500(14)-85925-2710(4)-96765.

  • Basic Pay: ₹50,925/-.

  • Approximate Total Emoluments: Approximately ₹85,000/- p.m. in Metropolitan Centers.

  • Other Benefits: Pension under New Pension System, Gratuity, LTS, Medical Benefits, Group Personal Accident Insurance, and Company’s/leased accommodation as per rules.

  • Guarantee Bond: Selected candidates must sign a bond to serve the Company for a minimum period of four years including the probation period. Failure to comply requires paying liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary, proportionately reduced based on service rendered.

Age Limit (as on 30.11.2025)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years.

  • Maximum Age: 30 years.

    • A candidate must have been born not earlier than 1st Dec, 1995 and not later than 30.11.2004 (both dates inclusive).

OICL AO Selection Process

The selection process comprises three phases: Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview.

Phase I: Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)

This is a 1-hour online objective test for 100 marks, which is qualifying in nature. Approximately 20 times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

  • Penalty for Wrong Answers: $1/4$th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted for every wrong answer in the objective tests.

Phase II: Main Examination

Phase III: Interview and Final Selection

Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination (approximately three times the number of vacancies) will be called for an interview.

  • Final Selection Weightage: The final merit list will be prepared based on the consolidated marks from the online Main Examination (Objective test) and Interview in an 80:20 ratio respectively.

  1. Visit the official OICL website: https://orientalinsurance.org.in.

  2. Click on the “APPLY ONLINE” option, which will open a new screen.

  3. Choose “Click here for New Registration” and enter your Name, Contact details, and Email-id. A Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated.

  4. Log in and save the data already entered using “SAVE AND NEXT” to complete the application process.

  5. Scan and upload your photograph, signature (in black ink, not in capital letters), left thumb impression (in black or blue ink), and a hand-written declaration in English.

    • Hand-written declaration text: “I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”.

  6. Fill in the remaining details of the Application Form.

  7. Click on the Preview Tab to verify all details before “COMPLETE REGISTRATION”.

  8. Click on the ‘Payment’ Tab and proceed to pay the application fee online using Debit Cards, Credit Cards, or Internet Banking.

  9. Click on ‘Submit’ and take a printout of the e-receipt and the system-generated online Application Form for future reference.
