PSPCL ALM Notification 2026: Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the Assistant Lineman position, candidates must fulfill the following educational requirements up to the last date of online application submission:
Passed Matriculation or equivalent examination.
Possess a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the Lineman Trade.
Must have passed Punjabi at least up to the Matriculation standard or its equivalent level.
PSPCL ALM Jobs 2026 Salary Details
Newly appointed candidates will be placed on a 3-year probationary period (or as per Punjab Government instructions). The minimum admissible pay is set at Rs. 19,900/- (Basic Pay) per month, in accordance with the 7th CPC/Pay Matrix. Allowances like Grade Pay and Dearness Allowance will not be included during probation, except for travelling allowance and medical reimbursement.
Age Limit
Candidates applying for the ALM posts must meet the prescribed age limits as of 01/01/2026:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 37 Years
Age Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxations apply for reserved categories. For instance, SC and Backward class candidates get a 5-year relaxation, and Physically Handicapped candidates get a 10-year relaxation over the normal maximum age.
Selection Process
The selection will be based exclusively on the candidate’s performance in the evaluation stages, except for the Sports Person category, where merit is prepared by the Director of Sports, Punjab:
Computer Based Test (CBT): The exam is divided into two parts. Part-I is a mandatory qualifying Punjabi Language test (50 questions) where candidates must score at least 50%. Part-II consists of 100 questions covering Technical Knowledge (50), Punjabi (20), General Knowledge (10), Reasoning (10), and Arithmetic (10).
Document Checking: Candidates who qualify in the CBT and make it to the merit list will be called for document verification to prove their eligibility, qualification, and category claims.
