Education Details

To be eligible for the RBI Summer Internship 2026, candidates must fulfill the following educational criteria as of the application date:

  • Course: Students pursuing a Post-Graduate degree or an Integrated Five-Year Course in Management, Statistics, Law, Commerce, Economics, Econometrics, Banking, or Finance.
  • Law Students: Students pursuing a 3-year full-time professional Bachelor’s degree in Law are also eligible.
  • Current Status: The applicant must be in the penultimate year of their course (i.e., the year before the final year).
  • Institution: The college or institute must be located in India and recognized by compliant bodies.

Stipend During Internship

Selected candidates will be compensated for their contribution during the internship period.

  • Monthly Stipend: ₹ 20,000 per month.
  • Travel Allowance: Outstation trainees will be reimbursed AC II Tier return rail fare (from the place of their institute to the RBI office).

Note: Accommodation is generally not provided and must be arranged by the intern, though this is subject to availability and specific office rules.

Age Limit

There is no specific age limit strictly defined in the official notification for the Summer Internship. However, candidates must be enrolled students in the penultimate year of their specified degree courses, which implicitly sets the age bracket relevant to postgraduate students (typically 21–28 years).

Selection Process

The selection for the RBI Summer Internship is merit-based and involves the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their online application, CV, Statement of Purpose (SOP), and academic profile.
