RIMCEE Exam Details
The RIMCEE 2026 is a national-level examination designed to select a tentative intake of 25 boy cadets and 10 girl cadets per term. The rigorous selection process is divided into three distinct stages: a Written Examination (Stage-I), a Viva Voce (Stage-II), and a Medical Examination (Stage-III). The written test is conducted across 39 examination centers in India and requires 4 hours and 30 minutes to complete.

Admission guidelines for the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC)
General Admission & Vacancies
- Seat Allocation: The college tentatively intakes 25 boy cadets and 10 girl cadets per term based on a state-wise and zone-wise merit system.
- Selection Process: Admissions are strictly merit-based, determined by an all-India written examination, followed by a Viva Voce interview and a medical fitness test.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit: Candidates must be between 12½ and 14 years old. For the July 2027 term, the eligible date of birth range is from July 2, 2013, to January 1, 2015 (both dates inclusive).
- Educational Qualification: At the time of joining the institution, the candidate must be actively studying in Class VII or have passed Class VII from a recognized school.

Key Financial Details
- Security Deposit: The ₹50,000/- security deposit is paid once during the first term and is fully refunded when the cadet graduates from RIMC.
- Subsequent Years: From the second year onwards, candidates only pay the regular annual fee (excluding the one-time security deposit), unless the fee schedule is periodically revised by the authorities.
- State Scholarships: Meritorious candidates can avail financial assistance and scholarships granted by their respective State Governments.
Application Mandates
- Online Registration: All applications must be submitted exclusively online through the designated NTA portal before the stipulated deadlines.Required Documents: Applicants are required to upload digitized copies of their recent photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, domicile certificate, birth certificate, and a school studying certificate attested by their current principal.
Application Fee
- General / Wards of Defence Personnel / Ex-Servicemen / OBC(NCL): ₹1,000/-
- Scheduled Castes (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST): ₹750/-
- Late Fee Penalty: An additional charge of ₹500/- will be levied on applications submitted during the late window.
How to Apply
- Navigate to the official NTA registration portal for RIMCEE.
- Complete the initial registration process using your personal Email ID and Mobile Number to generate a unique Registration Number.
- Fill in the comprehensive application form and verify your identity using a valid government ID (e.g., an Aadhaar card or PAN card).
- Upload the mandatory scanned credentials, including a recent passport-sized photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, domicile certificate, and birth certificate.
- Process the requisite examination fee securely via Credit/Debit Cards, Net-Banking, or UPI.
- Submit the finalized application and securely retain a printed copy of the Confirmation Page for future reference.

Stage-I: Written Examination

- Exam Medium: The examination will be conducted bilingually (in English and Hindi), except for the English language subject.
- Negative Marking: There is no negative marking scheme applied for incorrect answers.
Stage-II: Viva Voce
- Maximum Marks: 50 Marks.
- Eligibility: Only candidates who successfully qualify the Stage-I written examination will be shortlisted for the Viva Voce.
- Objective: The interview is specifically designed to assess a candidate's intelligence, personality, and overall communication skills.
- Qualifying Criteria: It is strictly mandatory to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in the interview to proceed further.
Stage-III: Medical Examination
- Status Rating: Candidates are evaluated simply as FIT or UNFIT.
- Procedure: Aspirants who clear both the written test and the Viva Voce will be called to undergo a comprehensive medical examination at a designated Military, Air Force, or Navy Hospital.
- Standards: Medical fitness is assessed strictly in accordance with the physical and medical standards required for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA).
RIMCEE 2026 syllabus
1. Mathematics (200 Marks)
- Number Systems & Arithmetic: Natural, Prime, and Composite Numbers, Roman Numerals, Decimals, Fractions, and Operations on Numbers.
- Commercial Mathematics: LCM and HCF, Unitary Method, Profit and Loss, Simple Interest, Average, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion.
- Measurements & Word Problems: Speed, Time, Distance, Time and Work, Temperature, and Conversion of Measuring Units.
- Algebra: Exponents and indices, brackets removal, basic factorization (e.g., $A^2 - B^2$), and solutions to simple linear equations of one variable.
- Geometry & Mensuration: Point, Ray, Line, Angles (Supplementary, Complementary), Polygons, Triangles, and Circles. Area and Perimeter of 2D figures (Squares, Rectangles, Parallelograms, Triangles), and Volume/Surface Area of 3D figures (Cubes and Cuboids).
2. English (125 Marks)
- Grammar & Mechanics: Parts of speech (Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adverbs, Adjectives, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Interjections), Tense forms, Question Tags, Subject & Predicate, and Singular/Plural.
- Sentence Structure: Types of sentences, Sentence formation, Ordering of words, Direct and Indirect Speech, and Active/Passive constructs.
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Homophones, Idioms and Phrases, Correct Spellings, and Confusing Words.
- Writing & Comprehension: Unseen Passages, Poems, Picture Writing, Composition, and Letter Writing (Formal and Informal).
3. General Knowledge (75 Marks)
- History & Culture: Historical Monuments, Major Religions of India, Art and Culture (Music, Dance), Famous Books and Authors, and Indian Literary/Cultural Awards.
- Geography & Environment: States of India, Solar System, Natural Calamities, Conservation of Nature, Water Harvesting, and Types of Mountain Terrains/Lifestyles.
- General Science: Application of Science in daily life, Taste and Digestion, Water Pollution, Evaporation/Condensation, Shape of Earth, Gravitation, and Plant/Animal anatomy.
- Static GK & Current Affairs: National Symbols of India, Major Inventions and Nobel Prizes, International Organizations (UN, World Bank), Sports and Games, Renowned Personalities, and Current Affairs.
- Defence Awareness: Equivalent Ranks in the three services, and elementary awareness of Weapons, Aircraft, Missiles, and Warships.
