Vacancy Details

Central Railway is recruiting for a total of two positions in the Cultural Quota, with one post allocated to each of the two specified disciplines: Percussion Instrument Player and Classical Singer (Male/Female). The posts are open to all communities, and there is no reservation for any specific community.

RRC CR Cultural Recruitment 2025 Educational Details

Candidates must satisfy both the Academic Qualification (A) and the Essential Professional Qualification (B).

A) Academic Qualification

Candidates must have either:

  • Passed 12th (+2 ) from a recognized Board or its equivalent with at least $50\%$ aggregate marks. (Note: $50\%$ marks is not mandatory for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen). OR

  • Passed Matriculation from a recognized Board plus a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship. OR

  • Passed Matriculation from a recognized Board plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT.

B) Essential Professional Qualification

Possession of a Degree/Diploma/Certificate course from a Government recognized university/institute in the relevant discipline:

  • Percussion Instrument Player: Must have a course in any Percussion instrument, such as Tabla, Dholak, Naal, Pakhawaj, Octopad, etc..

  • Classical Singer Male/Female: Must have a course in Classical Singing.

Emoluments (Salary)

Selected candidates, upon initial appointment, will be granted the minimum pay of the level of pay along with other admissible allowances. Only a stipend will be paid during the training period.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2026)

The general age limit for Unreserved (UR) candidates is 18 to 30 years.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be based on a two-stage process: a written test followed by a practical assessment. No interview will be conducted.

How to Apply

Candidates are required to apply ONLINE by visiting the official RRC/CR website.

  • Log on to the RRC/CR website www.rrccr.com.

  • Carefully fill in the personal details and Bio-data in the ONLINE application.

  • Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar Card number during registration.

  • Upload a recent color photograph ($3.5\text{ cm} \times 3.5\text{ cm}$) and scanned signature ($3.5\text{ cm} \times 2.5\text{ cm}$) in the specified JPG/JPEG format and size.

  • Upload legible scanned copies of all required documents, including your Academic and Professional Qualification certificates.

  • Make the mandatory online fee payment through the integrated payment gateway.

  • Upon successful completion, note down the generated Registration ID for future correspondence.

  • Take a printout of the final application to produce at the time of the Practical Demonstration.
